Unkee kahaaniyon ke mukhy paatr ve yaatana bhogtee aatmaayen hai jo kamjor jism lekar bhee apne phaulaadee iraadon ke bal-boote par kattar sampradaayvaad ke khilaaf ladtee hain. Manto kee 21 sarvashreshth kahaaniyaan mein unkee shreshth kahaaniyon ko chunane kee koshish kee gayee hai jo duniya kee vibhinn bhaashaon mein anudit huee hain. Aasha hai ki yah sanklan paathakon ko behad pasand aaega.

उर्दू के नफीस अफसानानिगार, मंटो
बरसों बाद मंटो को कई बार पढ़ने के बाद जब फिर से उनकी 21 चुनिंदा कहानियां सुनी तो लगा कि मानो टोबा टेक सिंह फिर से आ गया है, जिंदा हो गया है, वह कहां हैं, किसी को पता नहींऔर वह ठंडा गोश्त आज भी आज के भारत में भी लोग चख रहें है, और आज भी बू हर तरफ फैली हैं. ये कहानियां जितने 70, 75 बरस पहले प्रांगिक थी, उतनी है आज भी. यतीम मंटो की नजर जो बरसो पर कर, आज भी हमारे इर्द-गिर्द घूम रही है. उर्दू किस्सागोई में जो मंटो का स्थान है, वही मिर्ज़ा ग़ालिब का है शायरी में!

मानवी मनोभावों की सुंदर प्रस्तुति
आज भी मंटो की कहानियों में ताजा पर नजर आता है
माननीय एवं सामाजिक मनोभावों का ऐसा सुंदर चित्रण अन्यत्र देख पाना मुश्किल ही नहीं असंभव है

Roller coaster ride
I heard about Manto after the biographical movie came out which got great reviews and i was intrigued.
Now after reading his stories, I know why he is so respected. His stories took me on a roller coaster ride. His style is very direct and conversational. He set the plots without wasting any words, and till very end it was difficult to predict how the story would unravel and end. The stories explore complexity of human relationships and emotions, particular between a man and a woman. Thanda Gosht and Boo made a big impact on me in particular.

No story progression just repetition of scenes
Mstram stories would be better than this supposed literature.
I listened two stories Thanda Ghost and boo, both are like a thriller with a question creating curiosity, but end at a low surprise without much story progression. Stories seem to be that of intimacy in closed door but lack romance.

narrator ruined it
the narration is very poor. pronunciation of both hindi and urdu words is extremely bad and disappointing. many words appear to have been changed for unfathomable reasons.
