Publisher's Summary

Oscar Wilde's only published full-length novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, is the story of a man who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for eternal youth. As Basil Hallward, an aspiring artist, puts a few touches on a portrait of his handsome young friend Dorian Gray, Gray wishes that the portrait might grow old while he remains forever young. While Dorian Gray spends his life pursuing fresh experiences and new sensations, his looks do not change. However, the portrait, secretly hidden in the attic of his residence and with which he has grown increasingly obsessed, does. More and more, as Dorian struggles to hide his true identity, the portrait reveals his progressive pathway to dissolution.

Such a psychological masterpiece!

The story itself is new and untold. With lots of psychology to read between the lines from! And the narration is simply superb!

Excellent book, fantastically performed

This is truly a classic and was performed brilliantly by Mr. Fry! I look forward to listening to more of Mr. Fry's narrations and also to consuming more of Oscar Wilde's work

Stephen Fry is a remarkable artist

The cold liveliness that Fry brings to his narration is fascinating. It brings about such colors in characters, that you cannot help but make your side with one or the other.

Amazing Narration!

I have become a fan of the narrator. He did his job well. Although I didn't find the story much interesting, but the narration was what kept me going.
