Publisher's Summary

Benedict Cumberbatch reads these four new Sherlock Holmes stories by John Taylor: 'An Inscrutable Masquerade', 'The Conundrum of Coach 13', 'The Trinity Vicarage Larceny' and 'The 10.59 Assassin'.

Inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle's original Sherlock Holmes stories, John Taylor has written four more mysteries featuring the world's greatest detective.

Read by acclaimed actor Benedict Cumberbatch, these new adventures share all the suspense of the original tales.

In a drawer in his bureau, Dr. Watson keeps a locked cedarwood chest - a 'box of secrets'.

It contains an archive of notes referring to some of Holmes' cases that, for one reason or another, never saw the light of day. Now, for the first time, Watson has decided to reveal the truth to the world....

In these four thrilling stories, Holmes experiments with the science of ballistics, locates some missing gold bullion, investigates the theft of a large amount of money and solves the baffling mystery of the Stovey murder.

Here for the orator!

Benedict Cumberbatch is quite good as Sherlock and does a neat job with the audiobook. The story was going okay, the cases and their reveals at the end were sort of predictable.

Cumberbatch's Show

Magical interpretation and a bland story. If the same is done to any other interesting and intriguing story then it'll just be awesome.

Does not sound like Benedict Cumberbatch at all!

While the stories are classic Arthur Conan Doyle, the narrator did not sound like Benedict Cumberbatch at all, or as I expected him to sound. As a consequence, did not enjoy it enough.

Overall good narration

I thought of listening to this purely because of benedict cumberbatch and couldn't think of any other voice to narrate the story of sherlock homes. But the stories chosen were quiet boring. As a die hard fan of stories of sherlock homes, this is very less interesting stories to listen to. Took me days to finish it off.

great

The narrator, B. Cumberbatch have profoundly narrated the story without any discrepancy, giving us the experience of different characters having different voice and expressions through a single performer. If one is a fan of Sherlock Holmes, and the TV series associated with the afore said character, one would enjoy the audio story.
