Publisher's Summary

The IndiGo Story is a fascinating analysis of the manner in which an unknown entity entered the perilous Indian sky and became its undisputed leader both in terms of market share and profitability. Lucidly written and sharply argued, this book highlights the company’s formative years as a fearless start-up and its evolution into one of India’s most game-changing, profitable brands.

Going into great detail and with a deep understanding of the airline industry, the author uncovers little-known facts about how the airline displaced old players and new competitors and proved the doomsday predictors wrong in double-quick time. So what was the magic IndiGo wielded? What was the secret mantra of their success? How did they get it right when most failed or struggled? Uncover all this and much more in this captivating book.

Great book feels like research paper/case study

If anyone has any interest in indian aviations its a nice book to read for them. Very insightful and well researched. The book provides a thorough account of how Indian aviation developed, where is the industry right now. It gives an overview of all(almost) the competitors in the market. Very detailed read felt like a long case study from hbr.

The performance was good nothing special i heard it at 1.25x speed and it was nothing to complain about. Users might need to adjust for themselves accordingly

it's possible to fight out a storm

This is an amazing take of grit and tenacity in the eye of storm, in adverse market conditions, where two people Rahul Bhatia and Gangwal made success possible in Airline industry and how. When airlines after airlines were going turtle, Indigo kept winning prizes, increasing it's fleet of planes, increased it's market share, maintained it's ontime performance and became India's number one airlines....

Excellent

The book not only will give one an idea regarding "The IndiGo Story", but rather will help get an insight into the rise of commercial aviation in India. Moreover, the book goes on to highlight the fact that how the LCC model of business gained traction in India. An excellent read for those remotely interested in aviation, especially the commercial aspect of it.

A well-researched book

This book is not just about Indigo, but starts with global history of aviation followed by Indian history of aviation, before finally unfolding the Indigo story. While there is a lot of research that has obviously gone into it, I was hoping to get more insights into Indigo par se.

The narration could be better!

Real life account of zero to one

The book not only gives detailed views of aviation industry but also covers intricacies of running the airline business. The learnings of the book can be taken to other segment as well. Good read for entrepreneurs from scale and mitigation of external threat point of view.

Better narrator needed...

The story itself was okay, but the narrating was very sub-par. Frequent and over-emphasised pauses in between lines are very frustrating.

Lacks specific examples, magazine article worthy

The book is pretty generic and missed on the opportunity of providing good examples of the story. It can rather be compressed into a magazine article and not worth a whole book. 4 stars for the effort of compiling and structuring the contents, but a lot of it is pretty repetitive.

It feels like it is intended for PR, though there is no PR content as such.

story of the industry more than story of indigo

the author talks about story of the industry more than the story of indigo. the struggles wins and losses of indigo could have represented much better.
