In this hilarious debut album, Gabriel's self-deprecating and honest takes on marriage and kids, and his fascination with $60 hookers, show he's just like you - but a lot funnier. He's a winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition, has performed at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, and has appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham.

Editorial Reviews

Sometimes Laughter Hurts is Gabriel Rutledge's debut comedy album. His jokes throw the listener into fits of unstoppable giggling. His humor is self-deprecating and authentic. He uses himself and his family in order to speak at length about the American condition. The routine concerns his role as a parent, a husband, and a man (and indeed, many of his jokes concern his relationship with women). The language of this recording is explicit, and Rutledge's jokes are not family-friendly. This being said, Gabriel Rutledge is a captivating speaker; the listener can't help himself but laugh along with him.
