Del McCool, also known as D. G. McCool Jr., is an independent author and analyst whose writing draws heavily from real-world experience across military service, law enforcement, and decades spent working within large organizational systems. Del served ten years in the United States Army, including six years stationed in West Germany during the Cold War along the Iron Curtain. That period shaped his understanding of geopolitical tension, civil instability, and how societies behave under sustained pressure. After leaving the military, he transitioned into law enforcement, where he spent fourteen years working directly with public safety, crisis response, and the realities of maintaining order at the community level. He later spent more than two decades in the corporate world, gaining firsthand insight into institutional systems, management, and organizations from the inside. Alongside his professional career, Del has written and published across multiple genres, both fiction and nonfiction, under the San-del Writers imprint. He first co-authored a published work in 2010 and has been actively writing and publishing independently since 2021. His nonfiction work focuses on pattern recognition, preparedness, and helping readers understand complex risks without fear or ideology. His fiction is based on his imagination. Del lives in Texas; his writing is based on experience, not theory, and is grounded in the belief that awareness, responsibility, and preparation matter most before systems are under strain.
