Dr. Dale J. Dwyer joined The University of Toledo faculty in 1989 and is Professor Emeritus of Management and former Chair of the Department of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and both an M.A. and B.A. in Communication from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Dwyer is an award-winning teacher, as well as the author of several books and journal articles. In 2010 he published the top-selling SHRM-published book, “Got a Minute? The 9 Lessons Every HR Professional Must Learn." In 2014, SHRM released “Got A Solution? HR Approaches to 5 Common and Persistent Business Problems." Both books are co-authored with Dr. Sheri A. Caldwell. "Needy People: Working Successfully with Control Freaks and Approvalholics was released in 2017 and was a 2018 finalist for the American BookFest Best in the Business Management and Leadership category. His newest book, "Mastering Management," is a culmination of 30+ years of teaching and consulting with newer managers. Dr. Dwyer has consulted with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations on human resource management and leadership development projects. His research primarily focused on the areas of employee control and stress, and he has held board membership and offices with several professional societies and community boards. Currently he serves as HR Director for MWM Legal Group, PLLC in Arlington, Virginia.
