Gail Jewel Hunte is originally from the UK and is a Barbadian children’s author, broadcaster, and internationally recognised animal welfare advocate. With a passion for empathy, conservation, and animal sentience, Gail’s work nurtures kindness towards animals and the natural world. She is the creator of Oceana’s Brave Quest, a middle-grade adventure that combines rich storytelling with a powerful conservation message.
Gail has hosted the long-running radio programme Animal Craze and appeared on the nationally televised series Action for Animals (Barbados). She currently hosts an independent podcast and YouTube platform featuring local and international voices in animal welfare and conservation. Alongside her books, Gail has developed an ethical merchandise line inspired by wildlife and companion animals, forming a cohesive mission-driven ecosystem.
Recognised nationally with grants and awards from the Barbados National Cultural Foundation, Gail continues to use her voice and creative work to inspire positive change for animals and the environment.
