I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, 2nd born of 4 children. From an early age, I loved reading, and would often be found curled up on a chair reading a book when we went to visit family friends! In high school, I won several national essay contests and was editor for the school newspaper, and also played on several school sports teams. I studied chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Nairobi and I later did a Masters in Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. I currently serve as the senior pastor of Mavuno Church, a growing movement of churches that are passionate about 'turning ordinary people into fearless influencers of society'. I am also an entrepreneur, speaker, author and leadership coach.
My first published book was 'Mizizi: Plugging Into Your God Purpose', a discipleship manual that has been translated into at least 6 different languages and is used by churches across the world. I have written several other books and courses, some co-authored with my wife Carol. Together, we run an online course called 'Couples & Money'. My passions are leadership development and societal transformation and my hobbies/interests include travel, gardening, and beekeeping. I live in Nairobi with my wife Carol and we have three children.
