S. I. Wells moved to a small farm in southwest Iowa, known as flyover country, with his wife of 45 years, ten years ago. The farm has been in his family since the Civil War and has ancestral memories that mirror the history of the U.S.A. Not a farmer by profession, he lets his neighbors farm the acres in exchange for fresh vegetables and treats throughout the year.
He has a pig named Winston Churchill, a cow named Bessie, a wiener dog named Geronimo and a cat named Trouble.
After a varied career, he now devotes his days to writing heartfelt stories about ordinary people with strong values and grit who wind up overcoming the challenges life throws at them with dignity and grace.
