Shelley Frisch (Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Princeton University) has translated some 30 thirty books from German, many of them biographies; her translation awards include the MLA's Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for a Translation of a Scholarly Study of Literature and the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translator's Prize.
