Delicious to listen to!
The writing puts you right in the middle of the room with the protagonist, and Meryl Streep really brings her to life with her charming and heartfelt narration. There's not a single dull moment here. Funny, with a side of heartbreak.
Great story experience enhanced by narrator
This could be someone casually telling you about their day over afternoon tea. Languid, but the short chapters or episodes keep you hooked. The narrator’s voice and accents vividly bring to life the setting in Lagos. I throughly enjoyed a point of view I haven’t come across before. Entertaining and engrossing.

The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.
Stephen Fry's voice is made for narration!

The mythological fix we deserve
Stephen Fry’s delightfully animated narration of an equally delightful narrative of the gods’ escapades is simply wonderful. This is fabulous writing read to you with love.
This book will rip your soul into two with the hope that it all gets better in the end, because it has to
Needless to say, Arundhati Roy’s writing is beautiful. It is poetic, it is visual, and it very skilfully weaves a real world into the fabric of fiction. Coupled with how she narrates that story, which is a narration and not a reading makes you feel what her characters are feeling right in your bones. Ending this book with empathy I hadn’t expected to have.

Matilda is the world's most famous bookworm, no thanks to her ghastly parents. Her father thinks she's a little scab. Her mother spends all afternoon playing bingo. And her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull? She's the worst of all. She's a big bully, who thinks all her pupils are rotten and locks them in the dreaded Chokey. Despite these beastly grownups trying to push her down, Matilda is an extraordinary girl with a magical mind. And she's had enough. So all the terrible adults had better watch out, because she's going to teach them a lesson they'll never forget!

Kate Winslet has done such a sensational job of narrating this childhood favourite. There’s different voices and accents and emotion and it’s simply a blast listening to her tell you Matilda’s story. I highly recommend it.
