Story
'Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.' A lawyer's advice to his children as he defends the real mockingbird of Harper Lee's classic novel - a black man charged with the rape of a white girl. Through the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee explores with exuberant humour the irrationality of adult attitudes to race and class in the Deep South of the '30s.

You can quibble about the political correctness or otherwise.
I truly enjoyed the quality of the writing, it’s ability to take you in your mind and imagination to the town of the Finches and their neighbours. And the narration - possibly the best of all books that I’ve heard on Audible.
Congratulations.

Story
On his way to finding out, Mason meets Mrs. Milfield, a barely distraught widow, and a slew of suspicious characters all intimately connected to the recently deceased, a man murdered on someone else's yacht. As the surprising scenario unravels, it takes a sharp mind like Mason's, the savvy of his secretary Della Street, and the legwork of investigator Paul Drake to pull all the clues out of the water before the case sinks like a deadweight.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. It's about a jealous wife obsessed with her replacement. It's about a younger woman set to marry the man she loves. The first wife seems like a disaster; her replacement is the perfect woman. You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships. You will be wrong.

Story
In 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaïre, two African American boxers were paid five million dollars apiece to fight each other. One was Muhammad Ali, the aging but irrepressible "professor of boxing." The other was George Foreman, who was as taciturn as Ali was voluble. Observing them was Norman Mailer, a commentator of unparalleled energy, acumen, and audacity.

Sports writing allows the writer to expound on matters of geography, history, culture, philosophy, psychology, behavioural science and many many more facets of life. Not many writers are able to lucidly include and combine these diverse elements to knit one story. Norman Mailer does so in The Fight.

Story
Is it possible to write a sidesplitting novel about the breakup of the perfect marriage? If the writer is Nora Ephron, the answer is a resounding yes. For in this inspired confection of adultery, revenge, group therapy, and pot roast, the creator of Sleepless in Seattle reminds us that comedy depends on anguish as surely as a proper gravy depends on flour and butter.

I disliked the book so much that I feel it was a wrong purchase / the book is meant for a different demographic / something is wrong with my ability to emote or sense emotion.
I apologise for the poor review but the book, the protagonist and her world did not resonate.
So readers of this review best be guided by others / other reviews as surely the book couldn't be as bad as I thought it to be.
