 توماس ستيرنز إليوت، شاعر أمريكي-إنجليزي، كاتب مسرحي، ناقد أدبي، ومحرر، زعيم حركة الحداثة في الشعر، أعماله أثرت على العديد من الشعراء البريطانيين في عصره... ولد في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر، وقد أسره الأدب منذ طفولته المبكرة، ورث مهارة والدته الأدبية، وكتب أول أشعار له في سن الرابعة عشرة، لكن لم تبدأ موهبته الأدبية في الازدهار حتى السابعة عشر من عمره في هارفارد حيث بدأ بدراسته الجامعية، وقد حقق انطباعا جيداً من مساهمته الدائمة في المجلة الطلابية الجامعية محامي هارفارد. ظهرت شهرته الحقيقة عندما انتقل إلى انكلترا في سن السادسة والعشرين، حيث نشر أول كتاب له: "بروفروك وملاحظات أخرى" والذي حقق له الشهيرة بين عشية وضحاها. ورغم مهارته وشهرته إلا أنه كان من الشعراء المقلين، وذلك لأنه أراد لكل عمل من أعماله أن يكون مثاليًا... ولمساهمته في الشعر، حصل إليوت على جائزة نوبل في الأدب في سن الستين. في هذا الكتاب سنعرف الكثير عن حياته، طفولته وشبابه، تعليمه، شعره وأهم أعماله بالإضافة إلى بعض قصائده المترجمة إلى العربية.©2021 Storyside (P)2021 Storyside Art & Literature Authors
