Story plot is lacking
This book has nothing to do with Outlander other than the main character has a brief meeting that last a paragraph. This book does not seem well thought out and seems to have no real beginning or end. It rambles and seems like a side story she just made into a book that has not been thought out.

This novel is boring
This novel is NOT worth your precious time listening to. The dialogue is very boring and uninteresting. I kept listening hoping something would happen that I could find intriguing, but it just got more and more boring. I had to stop before I would scream! Don't bother listening to this book!

Fun, sweet, kinda romantic
This one really brings Minnie (Hal's wife) to life. The plot moves at a good pace allowing the reader to connect pieces the story into the broader Outlandish context. I have the sinking sense I might have thought it sappy if not for the need for more Outlander stories.

Wonderful backstory for Mini and Hal
Love this backstory for Mini and Hal, and especially appreciate that Gabaldon continues to write strong, intelligent and interesting female characters! The story and the narration do not disappoint.

Another excellent story in the Outlander universe
Another excellent story in the Outlander universe. I do love to listen to the other stories round about the main Outlander books. This one relates to how Hal & Minnie met and provides further details of their lives and how it intertwines with some of the other characters already mentioned in the Lord John series & the main Outlander books. The writing and performance is as top notch as ever. I'm making my way through the rest of the shorts and novellas, wish there were more.

another fabulous story from Diana Gabeldon, slightly let down by the abrupt closure of the first chapter. I felt as though I had missed out on an element of the story.

This would make a great movie
I absolutely loved this book enough to listen a second time upon completion.
The main character Minnie was young intelligent and gutsy.
A perfect novella to get away from your own reality absorbed in intrigue and spice of young life.
