"A Wrinkle in Time is one of my favorite books of all time. I've read it so often, I know it by heart." —Meg Cabot

This audiobook includes an introduction read by the film director Ava DuVernay, a foreword read by the author, and an afterword read by Madeleine L’Engle’s granddaughter Charlotte Jones Voiklis.

Late one night, three otherworldly creatures appear and sweep Meg Murry, her brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin O'Keefe away on a mission to save Mr. Murray, who has gone missing while doing top-secret work for the government. They travel via tesseract--a wrinkle that transports one across space and time--to the planet Camazotz, where Mr. Murray is being held captive. There they discover a dark force that threatens not only Mr. Murray but the safety of the whole universe.

A Wrinkle in Time is the first book in Madeleine L’Engle’s Time Quintet, followed by A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time.

It was awesome!!! What I was the story and the names of the characters in the book

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH THAT IT WAS UNBEARABLE IT

There is a charm about the story that seems entirely unintended which lends to the tale a kind of lightness... yet the theme seems a bit contrived. There are times when the author seems to be speaking directly to the reader (with long sentences) by seemingly reaching outside rather than staying within the confines of the story or the characters. This isn't helped of course, by the hurried denouement that leaves you feeling quite a bit dissatisfied.

It is of course a very engaging, entertaining, and instructive (in a spiritual way... should you want it to) story and is without doubt 'one for the ages' that has and, I assume, will continue to enthral readers (and in this instance listeners like myself).

A comment about the narration or performance.
Although Hope Davis does a good job with her enunciation, intonation and voice modulation for each character... her reading of Meg's implorations would get intensely grating. I'm not sure if the drawl was in fact intended or indeed needed at all times.

Rather a lame end...

I do not understand why this book has been given such a low rating. However, I felt that this book was really inspiring in the way it shows us how we can be strong by believing. Also it was an awesome science fiction based on the concept the Tesseract. I really love it and recommend it to all fantasy, science fiction, adventure and mystery lovers.

Really amazing book!
