About this listen

Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring) brings a palpable sense of joy and exuberance to her performance of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. From the White Rabbit and Mad Hatter to the Cheshire Cat and Queen of Hearts, she imbues each madcap character with a distinct voice and personality that will leave a lasting impression long after the adventure is over.

One hundred and fifty years after its original publication, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland remains one of the most widely read, deconstructed, referenced, and reinterpreted works of Western fiction. It tells the story of the young and imaginative Alice, who grows weary of her storybook, one "without pictures or conversations", and follows a hasty hare underground - to come face to face with a host of strange and fantastic characters.

Great story and narration. Must read for young readers and for those interested in fairy tales. Narration is better than others.

Great Story, better narration than others.

even if you never read this book, thanks to popularity you already know the story. the writing is extremely creative, and when you experience it, you see all those confusing but also sensible story telling.

it's very short. like a short afternoon read. it's nice. it's clean so anybody, from kids to adults, can enjoy it.

the narration, I think, Johansson should not be in the narration business. she appears bored and uninterested throughout the book. if anything her voice is distracting rather than enjoyable.

wonderful story. good narration

Faithful performance by Scarlett Johansson. The story is a classic. The last chapter is the only one that makes sense in the story. Everything else is a wonderland story as it should be. Loved the last chapter though, it was like a neat brow for a wrapped gift pack

Great Ending

Alice in Wonderland had been on my to read just because of being a popular classic. I never prioritized it Hugh though dismissing it as a children book. Then I saw it on audible and narrated by Scarlett Johansson, which caught my eye. While Lewis Carroll has written an excellent story, Scarlett breathes life into it with seamlessly transitioning from one voice to another and back and managing 4-5 different voices in one scene. She makes every character lively and relatable. All in all a must listen for everyone!

Scarlett Johansson takes it to next level

Although I am not a fan of the story, but the narration is great.
If you love the story, go ahead with this version.
