Loved this book thoroughly. It transports us to the 1890s french empire. The Dreyfus affair is what motivated Theodore Herzl to vision a Jewish homeland. I have heard about this episode in Unpacking Israeli History. But, listening and reading the fictionalized version has been truly captivating.
