About this listen

Karan Johar is synonymous with success, panache, quick wit, and outspokenness, which sometimes inadvertently creates controversy and makes headlines. KJo, as he is popularly called, has been a much-loved Bollywood film director, producer, actor, and discoverer of new talent. With his flagship Dharma Production, he has constantly challenged the norms, written and rewritten rules, and set trends. But who is the man behind the icon that we all know? Baring all for the first time in his autobiography, An Unsuitable Boy, KJo reminisces about his childhood, the influence of his Sindhi mother and Punjabi father, obsession with Bollywood, foray into films, friendships with Aditya Chopra, SRK and Kajol, his love life, the AIB Roast, and much more. In his trademark frank style, he talks about the ever-changing face of Indian cinema, challenges and learnings, as well as friendships and rivalries in the industry. Honest, heart-warming and insightful, An Unsuitable Boy is both the story of the life of an exceptional film-maker at the peak of his powers and of an equally extraordinary human being who shows you how to survive and succeed in life. Loved everything about the book except for the child adoption part and also The Narrator is excellent.. If i were the child I won't be happy to hear about me this way.. I would love it more if the child has to be loved unconditionally.. loving unconditionally is what I would love to hear more.. Just that little part otherwise I love every details of this book.. It's superb 😘😘❤️👍

My thinking has changed about Karan Johar.

Everything abt his life's incident is ironic and motivating. The most emotional part was the chapter of his father's death. How gradually he collected all the broken pieces and started his life once again with the letter that his father has had left for him which included things like, on whom should he trust and whom should he not. He is one such guy who is not bothered about how and what public has to say for him. People called him panzy, ppl called him a flag bearer of nepotism, but he truly came out of all those rubbish comments and have achieved a truest amount of compassion and conviction in his life, cuz he knows now how to take a stand for himself and that's what makes him real. He is one of the most caring person any parent, friends, and siblings can ever have. I wish I also had a KARAN in my life....Toodles! 😊

Superb perspectives learned from KJo.
