In Hebrews 1:7 we read, "And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire." In some translations "the angels are like the winds and servants like flames of fire."

Imagine yourself as being on fire for God with a flame that never goes out! The setting for this podcast/video is at the Eternal Flame in Chestnut Ridge Park located just outside of Buffalo in Orchard Park, NY. Methane gas seeps up through the shale and burns continuously. In the rare times that bad weather causes the flame to go out, its easily reignited by hand.

My focus was not so much on angels, although they are real and the Bible does have a lot to say about them, my focus was more on being an eternal flame for God. If your light goes out, get back in your Bible and get reignited in Christ.

What Are Your Limitations?

"So I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan's angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn't think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me,

My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.

Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ's strength moving in on my weakness.

Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over!

And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become."

A Legless Woman In A Homeless Shelter

In the middle of the night I couldn't sleep - my thoughts were zeroed in on the lady with no legs in a wheelchair.

I'd seen her first in the street in the rain. I tried to talk to her, but she just wheeled herself on by. Later, inside the Shelter I asked if she wanted something to eat. At first she acted like she didn't understand. I persisted.

Bending down to her level, face to face, it appeared that she combined her limited hearing with reading my lips. She wanted to know what the meal was as she was limited in what she could eat. I brought a plate back.

As I held the plate, she groaned and bent over trying to spread a red & white crocheted afghan. When I understood what she was trying to do I set the plate down and helped her.

She twisted her small body in the wheelchair and allowed gravity to pull her body down on the afghan. That was her resting place - a thin barrier on the cold concrete floor.

She freed her hands that had been pulled up into her sleeves for warmth and took the plate. She looked up at me and said, "Why?"

I neither understood her question nor did I know what to say. What came out of mouth was, "Because Jesus loves you."

She had a male companion who came and stood beside me. He is in and out of the throes of addiction from the unhealed condition of PTSD. We prayed.

The woman with no legs reached for my hand, looked me in the eye and said thank you.

What happened in the middle of the night is happening again as I write this. This woman had limitations and so do I. My whole heart, soul, mind are going into moisture mode. Yep, that means I'm in tears.
