玄界灘に面している長崎県・平戸には「スボ」という名産品があります。ストロー（かつては藁）でまかれた"かまぼこ"のことです。食べるときには、周囲のストローを剥がして楽しみます。新鮮な玄界灘の「飛び魚」が原料に使われます。玄界灘で船に乗ると、「飛び魚」の大群が弾丸のようにビュンビュン飛んできます。生きてる魚の強さを思い知らされます。これがスボになって体内に入っていくのだと思うと元気いっぱいになります。
