About this listen
EPISODE 21: Nicole Hardy
Lean back, kick your legs up and laugh at actor and writer Nicole Hardy’s bad choices that lead to very unintended hilarity wherein she narrowly escapes deadly consequences. That’s right, she discloses a triptych of true stories from the diary of a self-inflicted accidental poisoner.
Nicole is a Seattle-based writer and teaching artist who’s working on a memoir about the year she spent sailing the world. She’s the author of the memoir Confessions of a Latter-day Virgin, and is best known for her Modern Love essay “Single, Female, Mormon, Alone.”
BACKFENCE Unhinged is a unique and delightful twist on the storytelling podcast where hosts Andrew and Frayn invite a storyteller on to share an unhinged true story. Then comes the second unhinged part – they dig in and ask questions to get into the behind-the-scenes dirt — finding intersections with some of their own personal anecdotes.
This episode was edited and produced by Julia Oppenheimer. With music created by musician and frontman for Lost Lander, Matt Sheehy. Frayn Masters is executive producer. Frayn Masters & Andrew Dickson are co-hosts and co-creators. The show was recorded at XRAY.fm — find them online or 91.1 or 107.1.
