Retired and Killin' It: The Ultimate Retirement Plan
I remember the moment I decided to retire. It wasn’t a long, drawn-out process. An executive coach I was working with asked me a few questions to help me think about what I wanted in my next role. After I sat down and completed the exercise, it hit me: I didn’t want another role. I was ready to retire—and to finally do other things I had put off for years.
After I retired, I was invited to speak on a leadership panel at MBA’s mPowering You conference. On that stage, I told the audience, “I’m retired and killin’ it.”
That moment stuck with me. Later, I became a certified executive coach and discovered retirement coaching—a field focused on helping people prepare for and transition into retirement, emphasizing the non-financial side of this life stage that so many overlook.
That led me to create the KILLIN’ IT formula and write the book Retired and Killin’ It to help others navigate life after work with clarity and purpose.
An estimated 14.8 million Boomers will retire in the next five years—and most are unprepared for what comes after the paycheck stops. I’m here to help them step confidently into this next season, using my KILLIN’ IT formula to build purpose, connection, and joy in the years ahead.
