  • Cowboy Poetry with Tim Huls
    Jan 27 2026

I don't know much about cowboy poetry, but Tim Huls does. Cowboy poetry can make you laugh, cry, and reflect. It is a spoken medium, steeped in generations of the people who make up the history of our land. The stories of family, faith, loss, love, humor and grit make up a genre that is as open as the range these poets describe.

Tim grew up on a family farm, he has been a dairy man and farmer, and now in retirement is reflecting on a life spent outdoors, when milk prices were bad, and when they weren’t so bad.

You won’t find Tim on stage at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, but you will find him involved with his family, church, and community. He has received significant attention for his poem “Another One’s Gone” which you can find on you tube.

Our conversation will make you hit pause a few times as you think about the words Tim shares. I hope this episode shines light on your own experience and gives you perspective to stop, think, and love others better.

My guest today is Cowboy Poet Tim Huls
