On May 22nd, 1980, the employees at the Hasbrouck heights quality inn hotel called police.
There had been violent screams coming from a room, as if a woman was being tortured.
When police arrived, they arrested Richard Cottingham, a 33 year old family man working for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a computer operator.
They initially believed they had the wrong guy, until the investigation unraveled the web of horrors he had created.
