About this listen

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st. Folks, here's the deal. That cold front that blew through? It's rewriting the whole script tonight. South Texas hit 83 degrees around 35 degrees P.M. By 35 degrees A.M. tomorrow? 44 degrees. That's a 40 degree nosedive in about twelve hours. The kind of drop that makes your thermostat question its life choices. And fire danger is no joke right now. Red Flag Warnings are flying across South and Central Texas. Humidity's cratering into the teens. North winds gusting to 35 degrees, even 30 miles an hour. One spark and dry grass turns into a headline. No outdoor burning tonight. Period. Let's take a drive. Down in the Valley, Laredo and McAllen are still clinging to the warmth, but tonight that wind chill drops it to 37 degrees. Bring the pets inside. Slide over to the Gulf Coast and Houston's sitting at 76 degrees this afternoon. Tomorrow? Just 63. Galveston's dealing with waves five to ten feet high through Sunday. Stay out of that water. Rip currents are dangerous. Up through Austin and San Antonio, you're seeing 68 degrees with gusts to 30 miles an hour. Tonight crashes to 42 degrees, feeling like 36. Cover those plants if you haven't already. Keep driving north to Dallas and Fort Worth. You topped out around 60 today. Tomorrow barely cracks 57. Rural areas west of I 35 could flirt with freezing overnight. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Sunday and Monday stay cool. Lows in the 30s and 40s. Patchy frost possible in the Hill Country. But Tuesday the rebound kicks in hard. By Wednesday, South Texas flirts with 91 degrees. In February. North Texas climbs into the mid 80s. No rain anywhere. Just dry heat building back like summer got impatient. So. If you're enjoying these forecasts, share us with a friend who likes knowing what's coming. Takes two seconds and helps us grow. Bundle up tonight, folks. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!
