About this listen
This episode: Scott is finally on board the Dungeon Crawler Carl train!
It's more than just books at aadl.org!
SUMMERTIME
Summer time is around the corner and if you have a library card, have a special party or event coming up, and want to have a giant Connect 4 or a lighting system or a PA, now is the time to reserve it! Visit aadl.org/bookatool and see what we've got for the summer. You can also come to the Downtown Library in person and snag giant games and more off our Express Shelf from a stash of items that aren't reservable but are first-come, first-served.
MAKE MUSIC DAY
Make Music Day is back on Sunday, June 21 with a full day of programming at the Downtown Library, some special concerts at the Summer Festival, and concerts all across the city! You want to visit aadl.org/makemusic for all the details but here's what to look for:
• The Downtown Library will feature a musical petting zoo, DJ workshop, intro to home recording and the ever-popular Folk Song Jam Along, where attendees are encouraged to bring their own instruments and play along to folk favorites.
• The Ann Arbor Summer Festival has two AADL-related musical acts with Kids Rock band Go Banana Go, and a wonderful wacky event called Sousapalooza. Do you love John Philip Sousa and some of America's most famous marches? Are you a wind band player of any level of skill and experience? Want to play a public concert along with a few hundred other people? Colonel (Rtd.) Jason Fettig, former director of the United States Marine Band, and Director of Bands at the University of Michigan, helps lead SOUSAPALOOZA! With just one rehearsal, they'll perform John Philip Sousa's greatest hits and more at Top of the Park.
