Dynamic Thought
or The Law of Vibrant Energy
By William Walker Atkinson
Narrated by Denis Daly
William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) was an author and publisher of texts covering a wide range of New Thought teachings.
According to Atkinson, the idea of 'Dynamic Thought' underlies the entire universe and is the cause of all phenomena. Not only is everything that we see as Life and Mind and Substance an illustration of the Law, but even that which lies back of these things must provide evidence of the same Law.
The author describes this volume as "an odd book." He states that his aim is to present a union of "Ancient Occult Teachings" with the most current discoveries in science at the time. As in most of Atkinson's works, there is much discussion of the hidden powers of the mind, with a particular emphasis on the operation of thought in realms outside the physical.
While much of the science espoused by Atkinson has been either discredited or superseded, for example, the concept of the "ether," his basic thesis of the essential uniformity of the primary forces of nature remains intriguingly compelling.
