It’s December 1998, just past two in the morning on Gifford Avenue in the quiet edge of Oakridge. Luna’s friend Claire calls from the payphone at the all-night laundromat, her voice low and wrong. She says there’s something in her apartment—not a person, not an animal—something that’s been standing in the corner of her bedroom every night for a week. She can’t move when it’s there.
