Kris Saknussemm has lived many, many lives. He is a multimedia artist, musician, the author of many books, professor, and has spent half of his life living outside of America. He also did all of this after surviving a childhood rape incident when he was just nine years old. His rapist was unfortunately able to get off clean and went on to sodomize and strangle two other boys after Kris before taking his own life.
Some important topics discussed:
- the nuances of experiencing sexual assault as a boy vs. a girl
- how the event impacted his life & the permanent trauma it left behind
- his belief that the man who raped him was a demon or "metaphysical evil" in human form
- the difficulty of living with depression & how most people do not know what to say to those who are extremely depressed
- how artistic expression has helped him heal
- spirituality as a whole
