Guilt was always my go to and not once did it ever create a result I was proud of. The guilt I felt came from old rules, from the narrow track I thought I needed to stay on, from thinking there was a right way and a wrong way and enjoying my life and having fun always felt like the wrong way.
I thought it's what would motivate me into action. I believed guilt was the push I needed to create the change I wanted, but it only ever kept me stuck.
What surprised me the most was that when I stopped guilt tripping myself, I was met with ease. My habits changed, my weight changed, my confidence built and for once it felt like it was going to last.
