Featured Artist of the Week: Lumtz

Four years after his last full-length release, Argentine ambient composer and experimental artist Luciano Lamtzev aka Lumtz, returns with an instrumental album that feels less like a traditional record and more like sifting through someone’s backpack, journals, and photographs. To press play is to quietly step into someone’s inner world.

Released 17th July via We All Speak In Poems, ‘Tesoros’ is a collection of field recordings, intimate reflections, and fleeting moments gathered between 2023 and 2025. The result is a deeply meditative listening experience that unfolds with the patience of a long walk.

For Lumtz, who hails from the mountainous lakeside city of Bariloche, Argentina, the album is less about constructing a fictional atmosphere and more about documenting life as it happens. In many ways, ‘Tesoros’ feels like being a quiet observer in the studio: watching sounds accumulate while witnessing an artist process emotion in real time. It is an album that grows slowly, revealing layers through subtle textures, silence, and delicate sonic gestures.

Lumtz describes the record as “a diary of care and containment,” something that accompanied him through a transformative stretch of life. “It is an archive of walks, notes, dialogues, and small musical production experiments,” he explains, framing the album as both documentation and tribute. Each track carries traces of lived experience: footsteps through landscapes, quiet rooms, moments of reflection. That sense of movement is central to ‘Tesoros.’ Lumtz imagines listening itself as a form of spiritual exchange with the spaces we inhabit. Track by track, he pursues intimate sound design that leans on subtlety: gentle loops, raw recordings, and restrained atmospheres that feel grounded in reality.
