Publisher's Summary

Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I'm one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie's a jerk, because it also thinks I'm the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group.

More Please

This is a series I kind of picked up when I wanted something light to read before I go to bed in the mids of my Anita Series.

I loved Liz’s attitude and how she handles herself. Her sarcasm is much needed.
Raahosh is the big blue alien who makes Liz get her “cootie” and then her cootie won’t shut up around him lol. It was a great second book I can’t wait to see what is going to happen with the rest of the Humans if they all find their mates. I love the humor mixed in. Really makes for a fun listen.

The narration is awesome I love it so much. Really makes you want to keep listening.
I wish more were in the RP.

Really good!!

I wasn't sure about this series because of the alien thing. But I saw the reviews and gave it a try. I really love them!! The only thing I would say is that while I liked liz' s character in the first book I didn't like how bitchy she was in this one. I loved Rahash though!!

So annoying

The heroine was horrible! So obnoxious. She was my favorite side character in the first book so this was really depressing.

Another slam dunk! Keep ‘em coming Audible!!!

This is book 2 of Ice Planet Barbarians, which will be really confusing if you haven’t read book 1 yet. As a devoted IPB fan I already loved this book, but then Tantor Audio added the voice actors, and...BADA BOOM BABY! Magic! I just love Liz, who has the perfect amount of snark to deal with surly scarred Raahosh. The storyline is...Well, think what might happen if a sex-starved doomsday survivalist were to remake Beauty and the Beast, soundtrack by Rick James, and you’ve got the general idea. There’s excellent chemistry between Liz and Raahosh, resulting in red hot steamy scenes. But don’t be fooled- the story would be excellent without the explicit stuff. As expected, we learn more about the planet dubbed “Not-Hoth” by the humans as we watch another couple pair off and fall in love. Trust me, though this series is up to book 16, it’s not going stale, so I’ll have to re-read the kindle version of future installments until Audible releases them. Each book is unique and imaginative, with lots of adventure and interesting characters who work together to survive this brutal world.

Fun turned serious.

This was a fun instalment to the series, but I didn’t like the human heroine, Liz, for a long time. Once I did, I thought she was funny, stubborn, determined, and a perfect match for Raahosh who initiates their relationship by kidnapping Liz. This is the second kidnapping Liz has endured and while I sympathised with her a lot, I had more of a weak spot for Raahosh. Despite that the novel turned serious and fuelled by dramatic tension toward the end, there were many funny, tender and sexy moments. I enjoyed the whole story.

There were some audio issues when Hollie Jackson narrated – sound fading in and out, occasionally a tinny sound, and other times a hint of a tinny sound. This did not bother me so much because the voice narration was excellent. Once again (as in book 1), it took me some time to become used to Hollie Jackson’s voice. She doesn’t sound 22 to me, but by the end of the book, I didn’t care. Now that I’ve listened to subsequent books in this series, I realise the voice used for Liz is just one of many voices in Ms. Jackson’s repertoire. She sounds different for each novel's heroine. What a talent.

Mason Lloyd narrated perfectly and he sounded loving, caring, and protective. Loved him.

I recommend this book for a pleasant, light, romantic and sexy listening experience.

Lol Cooties

If you took a shot for every time Liz says 'cootie', you would actually die from alcohol poisoning, before you even reach halfway through the book. Cootie cootie cootie. If this continues into the next book of this series, I'm gonna give up on it because I'm not sure I can really listen to Hollie Jackson say cootie anymore, lol.
The audio for Hollie Jackson sounds muffled in this book, and this gets a little worse as the book goes on. Otherwise I'm happy with the story and characters.

Snarky Liz Pushes Back

Kidnapped by aliens...rescued by different aliens...refusing to have her choices taken away anymore...Liz pushes back when she is claimed....but life is changed.
Liz sometimes pushes too hard but her mate just wants to care for her...the lack of translating meaning when talked and the snark of Liz is fun, great fun stroy

Liz & Raahosh

Something about this series makes me want to binge listen to it all. Funny thing too, because it doesn’t have a lot of story line besides the stuck on a planet and romancing going on. But if you are in the mood for a sexy story that makes the time go by fast this might be for you. No prudes may apply. I like the narrators but it did take a bit for me to get use to the female narrator.

Even better than the 1st one.

Listen, I loved the first book, but Ruby Dixon has truly outdone herself with Barbarian Alien. The characters are realistic and there's more tension and fighting between our protagonists. Each scene was beautifully written, and nothing felt like a filler episode. Read this. You won't be disappointed.

just love Liz

2 cultures collide and sassy human Liz let's them know all about it,
her character was set in book 1 so she comes as no suprise in her story. and I guessed who she would resonate for a story ago.
Ms Dixon still carries her tongue in cheek dialogue nicely and the language barrier made me laugh on so many occasions.
both narrator's are still narrating as strongly as book 1 and are maintaining their awesome tones and Inflections with their characters. Liz, being the talker has some awesome slang words and one liners...as well as sarcasm that her mate does not understand and it's hysterical how he interprets her.
although their is no angst or threats from little green men, it is written well enough to enjoy the hidden hilights of language barriers.
although a threat from little green men would probably be difficult as they are much more primitive than green men technology.
just loving this series

Omg I can't get enough of the blue barbarians and their human mates. These blue hotties are absolutely amazing and well hung like a horse apparently lol. I love Liz and Raahos they are completely opposite but their chemistry sizzles *sighs dreamily* Hollie Jackson is one of the most versatile narrator at the moment she rocks Lick characters and she does an awesome job doing the males as well but Mason Lloyd's voice is divine and just gives me goosebumps *lick lips* i can't wait for the next barbarian in Audio. Ruby Dixon u rock gurl x
