Publisher's Summary
William Makepeace Thackeray's Vanity Fair: A Novel Without a Hero was published in 1847. Although without a hero, it definitely has an anti-heroine in the form of Becky Sharpe, played by Margaret Lockwood. At the time of the Battle of Waterloo, Becky definitely has all her wits about her.
"Theatre Royal" is a series of radio dramas owned and restored by Heritage Media, part of the Divine Art Recordings Group. First broadcast in 1953-4, it was the only radio series in which Laurence Olivier played dramatic roles. Other leading actors included Ralph Richardson, Orson Welles, Margaret Lockwood, Alec Guinness, Robet Donat and Trevor Howard.
