The Bhagavad Gita is universally acknowledged as one of the world's literary and spiritual masterpieces. It is the core text of the Hindu tradition, one that has been translated into more than two hundred English editions. Stephen Mitchell—the acclaimed translator of Pablo Neruda, Rainer Maria Rilke, and the Tao Te Ching—has produced a definitive version of The Bhagavad Gita for our time. Mitchell's translation sings with the clarity, the vigor, and the intensity of the original Sanskrit, bringing to life a timeless story of knowledge, devotion, action, and meditation.

This is the Bhagavad Gita as it is.. no interpretation or no explanation. While this is the way one should read it, but from a listening perspective I did not find it as enjoyable. It becomes too much to absorb.

The content and the narration has been perfect. As regards the work is concerned, it is really impressive from the point of a non Indian having done this. Ancient Sanskrit literature is highly imaginative. Indian sages believed self is the object that one should work to find answer to every questions that rise up. Duty is first then obligations. Because duty is part of a system. FW Taylor statement that line worker need not think. How do you teach others. It is a highly imaginative narration by the sage. He kept 'our own guiding self away from us' . That self is absolute truth. or paramatman or Sathyam, who is teaching the atman or soul. 👍
