Publisher's Summary

When children go missing, and the humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope for bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot. My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker.

Crossing into ogre country is dangerous when you're a polite, respectful gal. Which means I already know I'm in for a wild ride despite the backup I've brought along.

Even when things start to go sideways and enemies close in on us from every side, I still believe we have the upper hand.

How very blind can one person be when it comes to a salvage? I'm about to find out.

5 stars!

Each of these books gets better and better. I'm addicted to them and listening and reading them so fast I've bought them daily this week.

Love it

You don't get to book 5 and do not know anything about the series. This book follows the same formula as usual. There is still the great action and the bonding of friends. Rylee has matured through the series and it has made her stronger and more vicious. She has assumed the responsibility to protect her friends. She encounters different species and forge bonds along the way. This book does not disappoint. Unfortunately, it ends in a cliff hanger. Don't pass this up!!!

Non stop action

It must be difficult for Shannon Mayer to write a book as equally as amazing as her others. This one I enjoyed...a little less. Yes it gave more answers to the back story and the struggle to keep Riley and her family alive, and made me really upset when she lost some of her closest and dear friends.
This time Riley needs to save a young unicorn in dangerous ogre country before darkness takes over everyone's world. Between fighting for her life, and being blackmailed, Riley's tracking doesn't always lead her to the right place.
Once again Emma Galvin does an amazing job of bringing Riley to life and giving depth and dimensions to Riley's tough and emotional sides.

hmmmmm

narrator starts to grow on you from 1st book - but only if you don't let your mind dwell on the annoying voice. didn't like the scene with Ferris the vampire and honestly, starting to get annoyed with the inevitable bad choices Riley inevitably gets pulled into. not sure if I can stomach to continue with the series....at least, not for a long while.

Good story, but narrator! UGH!

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator is decent, and would have gotten 3 stars, except for 2 things. The evil bad dude's voice was that voice we all did as children when we were trying to be scary. That could have been forgiven, but every time she said "Cally-ope" instead of "Calliope" I cringed and lost track of the story. How did this get past editing?

No spoilers

Yet another fantastic book. Ms Mayer is a true master writer. The characters are well developed and a world that keeps building and becoming more and more intriguing. Can't wait to see where Mayer takes the future books. Highly recommend anything this author writes. I have yet to find one I haven't loved. The narration has gotten much better or I've just gotten use to Galvin lol had issues with voice pitch in first 3 books but is a bit better now happy reading/listening.

Engaging series

This series has kept my attention . Just wish more of the books were available in Audible . It has enough intrigue and drama that has kept me listening this far.

Maybe I'm Nitpicking but....

If I hear Emma Galvin say Cally-Ope one more freaking time I'm going to scream. I haven't 'read' this one, but I can only assume she's mispronouncing Calliope. Who in the hell would name their daughter Cally-Ope? (Even if it IS a unicorn) Maybe Emma calls people named Penelope "Penny-Lope". The narration is just off in general on this one. I get lost trying to decide who is speaking, and then the name distracts me and I don't know why I'm in the refrigerator. Just a not great book in an otherwise very listenable series. I'm going to hope it gets better.

Shame about the accents.

Fun story although the narrator's British accents are terrible. Makes me cringe and it detracts from the story.

Great story if you can gloss over the narration

These books are captivating and action packed enough to mean that I've stuck with them this far despite the grating, monotone and frequently unnecessarily intense narration. I've found myself repeatedly shouting at the pronunciation of "Calliope" as it should not sound like a type of melon! I need a significant break before contemplating putting myself through the narration again. In fact I'm much more likely to read the next ones instead.

Gripping but too short!

If you have read books 1-4 you should have a good idea what to expect.
If you haven't don't start with this one but go to the beginning!

Hard to say too much without spoilers but Rylee is on another salvage and of course its not a simple one, oh and it looks like she needs to save the world at the same time as well. The action is as gripping as always and I've warmed to Emma Galvin as a narrator and somehow she seems right for the books now. Her urgent tone definitely fits this book as Rylee lurches from one frying pan into the next fire.

Its a real page turner and difficult to stop listening once you get going.

Only complaint is the book stops mid story on a bit of a cliff hanger so I am now having to download the next one to find out what happens next.

Another great Rylee Adamson adventure

A great performance from the narrator. Very enjoyable storytelling, can't wait for the next installment.
