Engaging story line and Interesting characters
The story has a nice vibe. Storyline gets interesting with the personalities of the characters. Not the the main leads but a subtle insights into their families. The narration is definitely a good match and kudos to the team

Cute, funny and very romantic
It's my first audiobook in romantic genre and I am in with the storyline & the performance were great.
The character’s journey to self discovery about their experiences and relationships around them are totally relatable.
Some negatives (not so important):
Lots of plot moved into Thrusday night and it felt quite unrealistic that they did intentionally go through such difficult situations before the expo.
Also it was quite disspointing that the book ended abruptly on their first date itself.

Totally blew my mind!
It was hilarious through and through. The story was really amazing and the turn of events were great too. All the jokes were on point. I was constantly laughing throughout the book. I absolutely loved it. The story and performance and all.

Greatest Audible Preformance
I absolutely loved listening to this audible book.... for nearly all of the story. The performers were great! So easy to get caught up in the story! It was almost perfect!!!
My only problem with it was later on the story when all of a sudden there was a lot of the use of the “F” word. So Disappointing!!! And Totally unnecessary and distracted from the great Preformance. I would have given 5 stars with every category if it wasn’t for the language. I do hope Audible will be offering more books like this where the characters do their own voices. It’s like watching a movie in your own head. Awesome!! But trust me .... you don’t need to include the “ F” word. It totally is offensive to many people, and your story was great without it.

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING
This is my first review even though I have been listening to audiobooks over a year, mostly to still binge “read” while working and to ignore my coworkers theatrics. I loved it all! It was literally like listening to a favorite movie without looking at the screen. I’m sad that I reached the end. I would love to hear a sequel but fear it wouldn’t live up to the first book.

Bastone is definitely a new favorite author.
Cara Bastone’s authorial voice is absolutely captivating and she works within the romance genre conventions while bringing pretty unique spins on various tropes. I absolutely love the way she writes complex family dynamics and that shines in this book despite being in the background. And the romance itself between Vera and Cal? Magical. I screamed, I laughed out loud, I squealed more times than I can count. I can’t wait for more.
Also, the production value of this book is incredible. It sounds like you’re listening to a movie and I loved everything about it. Thank you, Audible, for the advanced listener copy! These opinions are entirely my own.

Cute Love Story, MUST LISTEN
I will be reading more by Cara Bastone. Easy listening and I didn't want it to end. I found myself smiling while enjoying the wonderful narrators and story.

A Sweet Romance
This is a 3D audio story and I really enjoy listening to them. Hopefully audible will do more.
They really do bring the story to life.
Cal and Vera meet through a customer call centre when Vera rings up to make a complaint about her website. They spend 8 hours together on the telephone ☎️ 😲.
This is a fun listen that will keep you listening all the way to the end. Vera is fun and Cal is thoughtful and sweet.
I definitely recommend this to all romance readers.

Slow start but worth it
I was honest ready to give up on this as it was so slow to start, but decided to stick with it because the reviews were so good. I really enjoyed this light listen and though it is mostly predictable it’s a lovely listen. The narration is great too!

Brings audiobooks to a whole new level!
I was blown away by this audiobook! This performance brings audiobooks to a whole new level!
If you enjoy RomCom and would like to listen to a story, this is it! Seriously if you don’t have Audible, but like RomCom, try out Audible just so that you can listen to this story.
The narration with sound effects is just brilliant. I wanted to listen to this story in one go! I smiled A LOT and laughed out loud several times. Simply brilliant! Can’t wait to listen to more books in this series.

Cute!
This was cheesy but I kinda liked it because of the premise. After spending a high percentage of time throughout lockdown on the phone to Amazon, NatWest, AA, work, insurance companies etc etc etc I have a lot of experience with customer services.
I’ve always wondered what the person is like and when they said they were working at home and I heard their dog bark I’d ask their name lol so I definitely related to Vera. It’s so easy to get into a chatty convo with these people. Cute concept & good short read (or listen), liked the more ending too!

It’s a bit of light hearted romance, If you’ve got nothing else to listen to then this is fine and it was included in my membership. But I wouldn’t pay or use credits for this.

Did This in a Day,
AND I WANNA DO IT AGAIN.
It has been so long since I’ve enjoyed a book like this one and I couldn’t stop listening, in any spare moment. I even snuck an AirPod during a quiet moment at work.
I love the premise and it’s so entertaining! I genuinely laughed- cackled at some of the jokes in this. Such a great listen and I couldn’t recommend this enough for some light and loving fun.
I just want to chase this feeling.
P.S. The performance was incredible, insanely immersive and the reading was so perfect.

The narrators were incredible!! 10/10 performance
I cannot downplay it, Luci & Neil absolutely made this story SHINE and come to life. These two are incredible, and their performance just made me so invested and immersed in Vera & Cal’s banter, flirting and natural conversation.
Luci was a joy to listen to, her perky tone was so lovable and perfect for Vera and I can’t imagine a moment when I lost interest while she was talking. She gave the ultimate you-go-girl vibes and I was here for her the entire way through!
I swear I had to remind myself that Cal is fictional because Neil made me fall in love with him - He is the most adorable and sweetest male character there is. The subtle inflictions, awkward ramblings and chuckles here and there made for an outstanding performance from Neil, that really brought the character to life.
The ending, UGH - I cried because it was just perfect. I would’ve loved more in my heart of hearts, but I think it was a great rounding off perfect for this cute rom-com piece. Cal and Vera for the win, I think this piece will have a special place in my heart for all the feelings I felt - it’s a cozy, enchanting and comfortable listen/read that I would be happy to revisit just for the narrators.

This feels so alive!
I love how the story is mostly told through conversation rather than narration.
The voice acting and sounds effects are great, I wish more audiobooks were done this way.

Loved it
This is such an entertaining and enjoyable story. The narration is just right. I'm recovering from surgery and listening to this cute story with a happy ending helped me get through several uncomfortable nights. I thoroughly recommend it. It's light and funny with a nice twist.
