Publisher's Summary

Suddenly, Corrie's (1892-1983) ordered life was lost in the insanity of war. With bravery and compassion, her family and countless other Dutch citizens risked everything to extend God's hand to those innocents marked for certain execution in a world gone mad. Corrie ten Boom's life of determination, faith, and forgiveness in the face of unimaginable brutality and hardship is a stunning testimony of the sustaining power of God.

fascinating!

I was excited to go to work each day so I coul listen in the car. I Just finished the books: "All the light you cannot see" and "Nightengale ". This was the perfect "next book" about same circumstances of people in France and Holland living the nightmare of Adolf Hitler's evil occupations, and surviving Death Camps. However Corrie was a real person and these were real experiences! Her level of faith and trust in God is energizing! thank you for this book!

Great story but narrator’s accent lacking

Corrie’s life story is indeed fascinating. Having lived in the Netherlands (Holland) for several years and visited Haarlem many times I loved revisiting her testimony of faith and perseverance. This took me back to the clockmaker’s shop and house!

There is however a mystery-why did the narrator choose to attempt to pronounce the Dutch names (streets, cities, etc.) in the Dutch way, but not the ten Boom name? In the Netherlands we would say “ten Bome”. But the narrator all throughout pronounced it the English way. It would have been more realistic and consistent to have done all or none. There was more but this one glaring example represents a lack of consistency. However, if one hasn’t traveled there one would never know.

Excellent Recount Of ten Boom's Life

Well read and excellent for a classroom setting. Readers get the idea of the hardships while maintaining an age appropriate level of details and descriptions. Opportunities for cross referencing STEM activities.

Corrie

Corrie Ten Boom’s life and story is a beacon of hope and love that can light up a very dark world. Her lessons in life are a warning for us today as well as a light to a better road to tomorrow.

Thankful

I love this story, what a wonderful message, so inspiring!!! It opened my eyes about forgiveness, and awakened to me how hard it is for me to forgive on little things. through GOD we can forgive.

Inspiring and convicting

This is a beautiful book detailing the life or Corrie Ten Boom. It is well written and performed nicely.

It did glitch quite badly (around 1hr 10mins from the end of the book), and I think it was the recording not the Audible app.

But aside from that, really blessed by this book
