Byron Crowne is a charming liar and a gorgeous monster. I detest him. I can't resist him. He’s awakened desires I didn’t know I had. When he touches me, I need to fight him...and I need him to win. I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night. With no plans, we made our own.

Story
It started out like any normal day. Then the fender bender happened. The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth. Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway - one I was excited about. Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.

Story
The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar. Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day - when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

Story
My love story all started with a letter. Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for. You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months. So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far. While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning. I was late for the first day at my new job - a job I’d now have to compete for, even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger. While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons. She’d ticketed a long line of cars - except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine. Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine.

Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. Publisher's Summary
Logan Crowne needs one year from Ella.
Twelve months living in his house, holding his hand, wearing his ring on her finger, and in exchange, she’ll get her father’s company in the divorce settlement.
They have one year to convince his skeptical parents that they’re happily in love, and he’s settled enough to run Crowne Industries.
Ella wants the company badly enough to live with a man who will never love her. She’ll sleep in his room and kiss him for show.
Her heart may melt whenever he’s around, and his touch may ignite a fire inside her, but surrender will break her heart.
She’s sure she can last a year without giving him her body.

FIVE STAR FRICTION, FIREWORKS & FEELS
Yes it’s a ‘marriage of convenience’ story and we all know how they go.. but once again, CD has written a captivating story with layered characters and a rollercoaster journey that’s fraught with friction, fire and feels. Ella has one goal - save Papillon her late father’s fashion label legacy from her stepmother’s destructive rule.. and she thinks the one year marriage bargain she sets with Logan Crowne will flow smoothly, will end with her happily walking away with majority shares in Papillon and will end with her heart intact.. oh girl, wrong on all counts. Logan’s father has given him an ultimatum - get married if he wants to remain CEO of Crowne Industries.. and Logan finds the right woman and thinks the Contract he’s signed with Ella won’t sting with backlashes, won’t change his business goals and won’t emotionally challenge or change him.. oh man, again, wrong on all counts.
It’s a very very entertaining well-paced emotionally-charged push ‘n push as Ella and Logan act on their attraction and fiery chemistry, build mythical backstories, slowly blur boundaries, build a tentative relationship, become a couple and discover life-changing truths about themselves. They are both very passionate about their goals, about their family.. and very quickly about each other.. but it takes them a while to turn lust into love. It’s a passionate, sexy, angsty rollercoaster as polar opposites stumble and tumble together during the year and undergo a good degree of character growth. A sexy, drool-worthy, tightly wound, hot alpha hero with a hard shell to crack and an independent, artsy, free spirited sassy heroine who loses her goals, finds herself and uncovers truths along the way. Good secondary characters too. The awesome dual POV narration by Joe and Maxine brought the story to life and were the absolutely perfect fit for Ella and Logan’s love story
Worth a credit? Yes definitely I loved every single glorious minute of it and it was a “just one more chapter” well-written slow burn that delivered on so so many levels.. and I’m counting the days until the next one. Can be a stand-alone.. but please try not to miss Iron Crowne.

Better than the first!
I started this book and kind of felt like I was missing something so I went back and listened to Iron Crowne, then things and people made a little bit more sense. Overall I really enjoyed this book, probably more than the first one. I just really liked Logan and Ella’s chemistry.

Disappointed
The story was not bad, but something was missing.
The male narrator was good.
The female...meh...
The fashion aspect was meh...
This actually could have been better but that female narrator....no... I have heard her before and she was worse. In the other audio that I heard her in, my ears were assaulted with a fake southern accent. So I guess I should have been happy that there was no fake, horrible accent.

Firey hot hot hot!
Love the dynamics and chemistry between Logan and Ella. They are two people who really wouldn't be together under normal circumstances but are brought together for the sake of a "pretend marriage". Sure, this book is very predictable. But, it's not about that... it's their journey... their chemistry... their different lives coming together... their growth and understanding of each other.
Their chemistry is quite hot... after all Logan is a good kisser! That's a great start to steamy scenes. :P
The narration is just amazing. Joe and Maxine are simply amazing. Love them both.
This book is highly recommended... definitely a great listen. I'm confident you will enjoy it.

A+ Narration
Loved Joe Arden's Narration - made this book a great listen. This was a great follow up in the Crowne Series.
It was a fun spin on the fake fiance trope. There were high stakes for both of them at the end of this. But in the end... what's really important? These characters take a good look at their pasts and their futures. Their goals are suddenly in doubt.

Logan, my Logan!
This is shaping up to be a great series. This is the second book of the Crowne brothers series. After. Byron Crowne--intended successor to lead Crowne Industries--finds his own success outside the family business, Logan is waiting for official word of his appointment of CEO. He went to school to study business, put in the long hours to show his father he was the only choice. Before handing Logan the keys to the corner office, Ted issues Logan the challenge to find love, and not focus so much on making CEO of Crowne Industries. He asks Byron to take charge again, while Logan takes time off to enjoy life. Once he settles down and has a partner in life, Ted will appoint him CEO. This infuriates workaholic Logan to no end. He doesn't want or need a wife, but if he's going to run Crowne Industries, he needs to find one.
Ella, heiress to the Pappillon fashion house, the one her wicked stepmother has taken the reigns after her father's passing. Making changes to her beloved father's company, Ella feels Bianca is ruining her father's company, reputation, and replacing his high-end couture with adolescent garbage. If she only had the money to get the company away from her scheming stepmother, things would be good again. When Logan approaches her with an offer that will help them both achieve their goals, a deal is made.
With a surprise wedding to announce to his family, Logan introduces Ella as his new bride. The family is surprised, but Logan is determined to make it through his "marriage" so he can be back in the Crowne C-suite. Ella can't wait to kick her stepmother out of her father's company. Being married to a Crowne has plenty of perks. What neither of them expect is the strong chemistry between them. But they can fight it, right? WRONG!!
I loved this opposites attract thing going between Logan and Ella. By learning so much about each other, it forces them to realize some truths about themselves they neede to confront and conquer. This marriage becomes a soul-searching journey that neither of them expected. There are some issues other than theirs going on, which plays into Logan and Ella's issues. I loved the searing heat between Logan and Ella, wish there was more. Thanks for that, Christine.
Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are perfect in this tale!
The catchup with the rest of the Crowne family is great. Can't wait for Dante's story.

It’s powerful and emotional and scorching hot
I thought it would be pure erotica, but it was so much more than that. There’s a real reflection about marriage and couples–how it works, what makes it work or not, the place of feelings and commitment. Through the main couple–who’s a fake one at first, marrying with a contract and barely knowing each other–but also through Logan’s parents, through Ella’s parents–and Ella’s father and her stepmother–and a tiny bit through Byron and his wife–Logan’s brother is the main character in the previous book of the series. They’re all different and offer various aspects of a marriage. All those examples show Ella and Logan that their relationship isn’t as doomed as they think it is.
This book is also about Ella and Logan growing as persons, learning who they are and what they want, again with the help of the people surrounding them–and each other too. Because they’re so different from each other, they have to meet in the middle, taming their extreme nature to find a more balanced one. It was fascinating to witness their journey through their thoughts and feelings.
The writing style helped. I loved how the author used words and sentences to convey their emotions. On top of that, the perfect narration gave soul to those very interesting characters.
I can’t recommend this book enough–it’s powerful and emotional and scorching hot, and so worth a read or listen.

Awesome narration
First book for me by CD Reiss and OMG loved it especially with the audiobook by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.
This book is a classic fake marriage to inherit the company sort of this which I personally enjoy anyway but love that Logan is actually a nice guy mostly through the book but a workaholic and Ella comes from a clothing designer family and is a hippie free spirit type of person which is completely different personalities.
The book is fantastic but I think the story is made so much better by having two awesome narrators that made me not want to stop listening. Definitely gonna be checking out more CD Reiss.

A wonderful fake marriage romance
I’ve got to say I loved this audio, everything about it kept me engaged and I did not want to take those EarPods out of my ears. I loved Logan (sexy businessman), and Ella (free spirit). I loved their honesty going into the marriage contract and I loved their honesty in the bedroom, shame about their denial of a future, but isn’t that what always makes these books more exciting. Fake marriage, always an interesting genre, always enjoyable. They think they have nothing in common, at least they didn’t take sex off the table (they normally do), and that one thing, they both said would never happen, well it always does. Can’t fault the story, the writing or the narration. I loved it all. Joe Arden (always a favourite of mine), was complemented by Maxine Mitchell in this wonderful audio.

Disappointing follow up book in the series
This has to one of the most frustrating and annoying books I’ve read in a long time. Starts off well, quick marriage of convenience, chemistry and sex off the charts. Then bang, after the first night together they barely talk even though they sleep in interconnecting rooms and only kiss for other people’s benefit. This goes on for more than 6 months even though neither of them want this. It only gets more frustrating after this and too top it off, when his family uncover that the marriage was of convenience, which he instigated, his family shun her! WTF! Anyway at least the narration was good.
