Publisher's Summary

Ankur Warikoo is an entrepreneur and content creator whose deep, witty, and brutally honest thoughts on success and failure, money and investing, self-awareness and personal relationships have made him one of India’s top personal brands. In his first book, Ankur puts together the key ideas that have fuelled his journey—one that began with him wanting to be a space engineer and ended with him creating content that has been seen and read and heard by millions. His thoughts range from the importance of creating habits for long-term success to the foundations of money management, from embracing and accepting failure to the real truth about learning empathy. This is a book to be listened to, and repeated, a book whose lines you will take note of and think about again and again, a book you will give your family and friends and strangers. Ankur hopes for this book to become the most gifted book ever!

generic wisdom, borrowed ideas, boring delivery

sorry for the harsh review, but this felt like a pretty pedestrian read/listen. no ideas felt unique, nor their application special.

good book

its a good book, not great, but good ,worth a listen , audio and narration is also good

the book starts off great , but end up being ok.

as for the feedback.

we.. young generation have a short attention span
if you continue to count till 50 mistakes.. ..well.. we will lose the attention at 10th max.
if you have 50 points to tell in 10 mins.. those are too many and too less elobrated or connected

choose the best 10 and make them brilliant to listen and connect...or atleast.. dont keep the count...specially if the counting is too long...

Even though ankur is putting across some good points but neither points nor way of telling them is anything new.

Bro just wrote a book for his own family.

The whole book could be summarized to a single chapter and 20 mins if his family relations were removed. Even though he himself confesses at the beginning, I expected to learn more from it since the title says "DO EPIC SH*T". Disappointed.

Play book cricket with this book

This book has rules,sucess principles,mistakes .
As the narrator mentioned we can open this book for 5 10 minutes any page and read it to get an insight for his experiences.I was not able to complete this book in one go.

Very simple and effective

Finished it in one go. Simple language. Relatable content. Even though the author says it's derived content, some of it is refreshing and original and quite hard hitting. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back again.

Epicly Sh*t

One of the wisest thoughts in this disjointed, unoriginal book was the one he stole from The Perks of Being a Wallflower:

"We accept the love we think we deserve."

So please, value yourself and your time more than I did and accept that you deserve to pick up a better book.

Good Stuff

I appreciate business books like this because I’m really look for reads and people that skip all the “Tony Robbins hustle culture” mumbo jumbo. This is down to earth and realistic and pretty pleasantly motivational.

Absolutely! Do Epic Shit!

📚Honest Thoughts 💭 📚

This was my book #100 read this year and I couldn’t have chosen a better one!

The author is true, there’s nothing there we don’t really know. However, it is so well written, compiled and organized that makes it absolutely enjoyable and full of knowledge.

I laughed and cried and as usual took down notes so as not to forget: HOW TO DO EPIC SHIT! 😂

I really loved this book!

His perspective is refreshing and engaging. It came at a time when I needed it most. This book reminded me of simple truths and taught me about how to live my best life. When mental blocks make everything seem impossible, his words and advice pulled me back to a place of reasoning. Made my day better, so I will be listening again!

A real book

Author read books come across as more genuine. It’s a good book, like the author said, nothing is original, but rather it’s a call to action. As a 27 year old entrepreneur, it’s refreshing to hear someone else talk about the failures and frustrations. Not wanting to go back to a corporate job but the challenges of entrepreneurship hit you daily and few understand what your talking about. Good book, can’t wait to read more.

Do give it a read

It’s a good read. Motivational and needed if you have seen failure in life. If anything it will warm your heart with some truth and give you a little push to see your situation with more courage and accept it. Ankur in this book is the voice of new and emerging india (I am Pakistani btw lol) and he is genuine in effort to teach in this book how to deal with modern issues with old and time tested principles. My main take away is time is important and that no matter what you are going through, showing up is the best thing you can do. I give it 5 stars, I would have given it another star if I could only because he spoke “hindi” at the right moment. 😊

title should be to leave out the first 2 words

I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this book, I just didn't like it, couldn't get away with the narrator's voice and the way they said certain words. The content is less about doing epic shit and more about, I'm not actually sure, it was so hard to listen to, I left it with 20 minutes to go, I just couldn't face those last 20 mins.

Fantastic reminder, and rules for life

Positively narrated rules for life, based on some brutally honest self-reflections. Whilst I’m not nor ever have been an entrepreneur, this book is easily relatable and I’m sure every reader will end up list in their own reflection. Really refreshing to listen to a top title from a writer of Asian heritage, with stories with that cultural perspective. Definitely recommend.

I will never get these 3 hours back

This audio book has a great rating, and great headings so I thought I would love it.
I just couldn’t stop listening as I was convinced that I would learn or at least find something that I could “use”.
Imagine you have a young man at heart that has read a lot of books. Books about; how to run a business to making money to self help books and he talks and shared their content a lot with his friends and family and now they think that he is awesome!
The sun shines through his 😎.
He share other people’s golden nuggets and I so thought that he would have mixed them into his Indian heritage that is so rich in culture and mindfulness. Nope!
I felt every platitude under sun has been presented and there are other free books here that are truly deep and full of new insights or at least a tweak or twist of the stuff they spin on from.
This is summaries, he says, from instagram posts, and it shows.
If you are new to reading mindfulness books and you’re truly not familiar at all with what’s shared on Instagram right now, then maybe just maybe this book is for you?

regurgitates clichés and "motivational" tweets

I believe this book is just a collection of motivational tweets copied and pasted from the author's twitter account, and you can tell - he just reads out constant short clichés and sayings, with little pre-amble, context, or storytelling. nothing groundbreaking or inspiring. I found it very hard to listen to this book because of this format, I couldn't stay engaged. there are tons of better motivational audiobooks and podcasts for free on audible you could listen to instead. avoid avoid avoid.

Surprisingly good

It sets expectations of not being groundbreaking, it's personal and the author's understanding of productivity really fits people who struggle with maintaining attention.

I'm 33% in, but so far there weren't any harmful suggestions. I've actually implemented one of the suggestions already (about quick access notes via chat).

Don't get repelled by the cringe bits, the good bits make it worth the listen. Besides, what's cringe for you may be a revelation or a motivation for someone else.
