Publisher's Summary
Cozy up with this warm, festive rom com novella about being true to your heart, the friendships that define us, and the irresistible pull of holiday magic.
Last year, Rachel Bacharach met the man of her dreams at a Hanukkah party — and then her outgoing best friend Tamara swooped in and “called” Oz Caplan for herself. It’s a typical outcome for the dependable, bookish Rachel, who is never able to extinguish the spark she immediately felt for Oz. But being secretly in love with her best friend’s boyfriend all year hasn’t been easy.
As this year’s party approaches, Oz and Tamara break up. It’s a worst-case scenario when Oz asks Rachel to help him write Tamara love letters to win her back in time for their Hanukkah anniversary. Rachel’s been writing love letters to Oz in her journals for a year; she knows all the words he would need. But will Rachel be able to hide her true feelings from Oz any longer? And might this year’s party finally be Rachel’s chance to trust her heart and put everything on the line for love?

Super Cute and Worth the Listen
I really enjoyed this book. Super sweet, cute and funny. Worth the listen especially since it’s a freebie. Elegantly narrated with likable characters. Highly recommend!

Just no...
This just wasn’t any good. I thought it would be a cute Holiday story abs I’m a sucker for Jason Clarke as a narrator, but just no. There wasn’t any cuteness, the heroine just looks pathetic. I thought by the premise that the girls had both scene him but maybe he hadn’t seen the heroine or something. No he met her talked to her and should have realized that she was what he was looking for, but when her hotter friend arrives he immediately turns his attention to her. The friend interrupted there moment and should have at least asked if she liked him before swooping in, but she didn’t. She and the guy dated for an entire year and then the friend decides to pass him along to her like a sweater? The guy mopes about the best friend and how to get her back for the entire story. This wasn’t cute or romantic with two a$$holes on one side and a pathetic doormat on the other. Not for me at all.

Happy Holidays
Angst and holiday cheer. No sexy times but still felt like a sexy story. Was just fun to have a short holiday read and loved that it was Hanukkah.

sweet story
This was my first Liz Maverick Book and I thought it was so sweet, I can't wait to check out more. This was a cute story and the narration was on point. I love anything Jason Clarke narrates but Eva Kaminsky did a fantastic job as well.

Charming Holiday Novella
A charming 2nd-chances novella. I thought the end was too short but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it. Both narrators were exceptional.

For your sweet tooth
This is a Hallmark movie disguised as an audiobook. One wouldn't expect anything else from this book. Sweet, a little silly, romantic and just what you need in the Christmas time. Nothing less, nothing more.

I only the best of what i hear!
I'm going to eat a little crow. I avoid books under 8hrs because the author can't possibly develop a worthwhile story in less than that. Ha! I was wrong. I'll probably listen to this one again too! I'll certainly recommend it. I'll also look for more books from this author.

Good
Narrator made a rather laid back story a little stressful, but otherwise quite a sweet story with a happy ending with a twist, with only a little drama & only a bit dirty/adult content.Probably wouldn't listen twice but I did want to find out what happened in the end.

it was...okay
Another Audible Original shory story I came across to get as many Christmas reads in as possible!
The premise sounded interesting but the characters were just really annoying! Especially Oz who just couldn't see what (or who) was right in front of him. I had a lot of eye rolls! Tamara gave me shit friend vibes too for various reasons, and Rachel, well... she was the most likeable I guess.
What I did like was finding about Jewish customs as it's not something I'd normally read about, and the food!
Overall it was average - not terrible, but not the greatest either.

Adorable winter holidays romance
This coupe is sooooo adorable and cute. This was a very sweet winter holidays romance (a bunch of them a Jews). There is some miscommunication and kind of connection at first sight that doesn’t go anywhere, and some friends manipulating a situation, etc etc and we get a hea. This was a very quick listen. It’s completely clean 😬
Free on audible with great narration.

Lovely setting for a not so lovely 'romance'
- Spineless heroine
- Jerk hero
- Jerk 'bestfriend'
Can't see the romance here as...
The guy chose the hotter girl over the heroine, with whom he supposedly connected with BEFORE meeting the hot friend. As if it wasn't too much already, he also asks the heroine to help him win his girlfriend back. How the heck can it be called a romance? It isn't romantic at all!
Friend don't step over each other without a care in the world and than 'pass' the guy a YEAR later because they 'know' their friend (only learned her friend's feelings one year later, when she tired of the guy, but you know ' I'm your friend, so I KNOW you').
A woman with some bones doesn't step away and let another steel the guy she supposedly loves.
Only the good narration saved it to me.

Cozy and cute!
Eight Winter Nights is a cute rom-com story on audio narrated by two narrators. We follow two POV - Rachel and Oz. Rachel has fancied Oz for ages but since her friend Tamara got with him first she's not pursued anything with him. But when the pair break up just before Hanukkah, Rachel being the kind hearted person she is, agrees to help take care of Oz who's broken his ankle. We flick between both POV and its obvious from the get go that they're both totally crazy about each other. Oz wanted Rachel's help to get Tamara back, but Tamara's not responding to his messages nor Rachel's and Oz begins to realise he's using that as an excuse to spend more time with Rachel. Rachel keeps journals filled with her heartache at wanting a guy she can't have and Oz learns of these journals and becomes jealous (not realising they're about him). This is such a cute story and not long either. You'll need to give it a listen to find out if they get it together in the end. There's some cute and funny moments in this book and it was an enjoyable listen on the run up to Christmas. I just wish there had been a bit of spice in this book as it could have done with just a touch of it as the tension between the characters was demanding it.

Re interesting and infuriating
Yes absolutely see what you are saying but characters always have their flaws/traits and this is no different from countless other books. I like these characters and hopefully Liz will write another book with them in

Interesting concept but infuriating
Spoilers:
Interesting and faulted characters, but quite infuriating at their obliviousness or inability to look after their own self preservation. Does unrequited love really make someone so helpless and hurtful? the loyalty is commendable, but deliberately putting yourself in a torturous situation is stupid - speak up for yourself, and get out of the situation. And the ex girlfriends "plan" really wasn't well thought out if she actually knew her best friends' personalities. Seemed like a quick way to make the story "work" in the end.
