Liz’ voice rocks but there is so much lunacy here

The “patriarchy” did NOT invent women’s beauty standards such as “threading” or “arm pit lifts”

Men don’t care about these things. It’s women that are inventing these concepts. Please stop being silly about blaming everything on some pseudo-conspiracy of men to oppress women.

It’s time to blame the Matriarchy Liz.

Pragmatic and powerful and necessary

Elizabeth Banks completely floored me with her openness and knowledge or at least willingness to seek out people that have the knowledge to help us explore our own sexuality and to help our children with theirs. I am sending this to my friends and it is brilliant. I wish I had this while I was growing up it probably would’ve saved me from a lot of mistakes that I made with myself, my body, and my boundaries.

Share this with everyone you know, especially the women in your life, but probably more importantly the man

Honest and humorous, shocking and familiar, this podcast mixes fact and statistics with true stories of struggle and celebration. I immediately forwarded this episode on body, even with spicy language, to my 14-year-old daughter. we should all be outraged at how our obsessions with our bodies and self-worth are so significantly and unapologetically influenced by people and things that could care less about us. I finished this episode feeling inspired and eager to hear the next episode. Well done!

Just a preview, but definitely draws you in!!!

The one and only Elizabeth Banks!!!!! Not much more is needed to be said...but if you need more said, this preview of her podcast gives the quick overview of the stigmatized taboo topics that we really need to be making more open and relaxed to talk about. Looking forward to this podcast!!!

So much hate, mixed with good information.

I loved how they were giving perspective to empower self value. But I did not see the point of the blame, and hate always at the white male. For decisions they had the choice to saying yes or no. Because they didn’t say no and walk away, they had to do horrible things. Things the room of old white men, that do nothing but think of ways to Fuk over women in every way possible. Then to be upset that a guy would go out and eat and drink with you, then find you beautiful all the way through to want to sleep with you. Really how dare a guy become friends with me, then eventually go get drinks one night and want to sleep with me? Really…. Play the victim much? You make us all seem like victims, I have lived my own life with these issues around. But never blamed anyone else for my own poor decision. Because I’m not a victim, I own my choices!
So sad to see such good info, mixed with a sexist/political agenda. Just to feed a certain crowd. Not even another view of any type, to any of the opinions shared. SMH I can’t even explain in this vomit of jumbled words I’ve wrote, how disappointing this turned out to be.

Horrible language

I thought this podcast had some interesting information, but the language is horrible. I do not recommend.

Love!

I love this podcast and I am not even through the first episode. I love how straightforward and real it is. In my opinion, It is a truly honest show about emotions and mindsets surrounding the body, But even deeper, the systemically cultivated way of thinking about ourselves and life in general. I love it! I’m learning, laughing and air fist pumping when their is something that is said which validated how I’ve always felt but couldn’t find the words to express. Amen Sis! Thanks for this podcast and your great insight!

Body positivity and body neutrality!

Episode 1 convinced me to keep on listening in this timely and relevant podcast. Plus, I love that the guests are all relatable and Elizabeth Banks is so good of a host.

This was dumb

Not worth the time. Normal babbling about "The Patriarchy" making young women get ear lobe plasties because they've read in Vogue about how attractive their ears should be. (1) I doubt any man has ever cared what a woman's ear lobes looked like. (2) If you think men give even the slightest shit about Vogue then you're out of your mind. Most of the weird shit is women pressuring other women.

Then there's the body positivity/neutrality stuff. Lots of healthy sized women extolling the virtues of being fat and not dieting while not committing to the lifestyle themselves. Apparently men are at fault when we don't find overweight women attractive yet Banks and all her guests are dating/dated healthily built blokes. I'd believe in their body neutrality stance more if they'd dated ugly, short, balding, obese guys. Somehow I doubt that will happen.

So yeah, lot of waffle about empowerment and patriachy. No different to hanging out in a uni library and certainly no more enlightening.
