Publisher's Summary

Technologically there’s never been a better time to search for a new earth beyond our solar system.

Professor Danielle George examines exoplanets in the so-called habitable zone. Those that have liquid water. And maybe even life.

She wonders how we might be able to take the our first ever high resolution picture of an exoplanet using the microchips found in mobile phones. And she meets world-leading astrophysicists to ask if within our lifetimes humans might step foot on an earth-like planet.

loved it

The never ending question of presence of an alien life, the search for another earth, the dark energy, the ever accelerating expansion of our universe and many more aspects have been discussed in this mini podcast. The narration and interviews from the people spending their day and nights to explore more of that space were quite exhilarating. This podcast left me wanting for more on the subject of exoplanets and space as whole.

Exoplanets - explained for every one

Wow ! An excellent introduction to Exoplanets. Narrator has targeted the book for all audience, even explains basic units like Astronomical unit , light year etc..

The book covers a lot of topics - who discovered exoplanets , how do they find it , what are the future missions , how can you help and even have your name listed in the discovery - planethunters.org.

A must read for all astronomy buff , I wish we had more such books.

Ruined by incidental music alongside the narration

I tried to listen to this fascinating podcast, but kept being distracted by never knowing when background music would detract from my being able to focus on the narration.
Please stop doing this, Amazon! Please don't have background music while people are talking. Save it for the beginning and the end, or in between chapters if you must.

This podcast is perfect for launching your imagination into interstellar space while our Earth is locked down. The passion of all involved was vitalising.I was initially very cynical of Amazon as a company but my opinion has slightly changed through making these wonderful educational resources available.A big thank you and well done to all involved for reminding us just how incredible existence is!

Exoplanets

In 2013 I completed an introductory course in Astrobiology and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life through Coursera lectured by Professor Charles Cockell UK Centre For Astrobiology at the University of Edinburgh. I found the course very interesting and have joined several Astrobiology groups worldwide. Exoplanets: The Search for Another Earth is an excellent audiobook anyone interested in this field of science.

Good but too much music.

I liked the information and the interviews but I don't get why so many audible originals insist on playing so much music while people are talking... It's an educational audio book not a story.
Would have rated higher otherwise.

Shame

Any physicist or biologist who pretends to believe in man made global warming is a disgrace to science and humany. All solar physicists will tell you climate is driven by solar cycles, CO2 follows global warming by 600+ years and we are entering a 30 year mini ice age. Shame on you.
