Publisher's Summary

In the final instalment of the trilogy that has left a whole generation breathless, E. L. James brings the fiery story of Christian and Ana to a truly thrilling crescendo.

Please note: This audiobook contains graphic adult content

Romantic, liberating and totally addictive, the Fifty Shades trilogy will obsess you, possess you and stay with you forever.

When Ana Steele first encountered the driven, damaged entrepreneur Christian Grey, it sparked a sensual affair that changed both their lives irrevocably. Ana always knew that loving her Fifty Shades would not be easy, and being together poses challenges neither of them had anticipated. Ana must learn to share Grey's opulent lifestyle without sacrificing her own integrity or independence; and Grey must overcome his compulsion to control and lay to rest the horrors that still haunt him.

Now, finally together, they have love, passion, intimacy, wealth, and a world of infinite possibilities. But just when it seems that they really do have it all, tragedy and fate combine to make Ana's worst nightmares come true....

Just OK

Good book. Narration is fantastic. Story is dull and repitative. Sex between Cristian and Ana is same old and boring

Loved it.

Nice one. Loved the way the author has handled idioms and phrases. The epilogue demands to enforce the book series again from first.

Waiting for book 4

What did you love best about Fifty Shades Freed?

It has a good plot and it has the potential for further books to be written , even a mini series for TV

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mr Grey of course

Which scene was your favorite?

First night in the pleasure room

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No

Any additional comments?

No

Finally more story and less sex

Would you listen to Fifty Shades Freed again? Why?

It is probably one of those stories you only need to listen to once, although my partner is now listening to it in the car and I admit I am getting a lot more out of it second time round.

What did you like best about this story?

Finally Ms James has seemingly got bored with all the sex and started to concentrate on the story and the journey. In this book we now are allowed to let our imaginations work a little as to what happens 'in between' sundown and sun up.
I suspect perhaps her editor may have had a hand in it.

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator turn what would otherwise read as a fairly trashy sleazy story into a genuine love story that you do become interested in. She really does an incredible job of letting the listener believe it is Ana and Christian talking to one another.

If you could rename Fifty Shades Freed, what would you call it?

No that is the appropriate title.

A perfect finale

Where does Fifty Shades Freed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 3 and only behind the first two.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades Freed?

When Ana has to save Mia from the clutches of Jack Hyde and she goes to the bank to get the money and Christian asks her if it was always about the money. My heart broke for him, completely broke.

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

All the different characters come to life

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Ana found out Christian had gone to see Mrs Robinson after storming out after finding out Ana was pregnant.

What did you love best about Fifty Shades Freed?

the story line and the way it was built from book one to the end of book three

Such a lot of hype

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Definitely, I would cut a third of the sex out and condense the series into one book with a reasonable story line.

Would you be willing to try another book from E. L. James? Why or why not?

Not for a long time. Too much drawn out sex in the middle of the story just getting going. Repetitive language. I found myself fast forwarding past the sex to get back to the story.

What three words best describe Becca Battoe’s performance?

Not too bad.

Was Fifty Shades Freed worth the listening time?

Yes and no. I enjoyed the book but became frustrated with Anastasia's language and her "Inner Goddess"

Any additional comments?

Just how naive can a woman be? Miss Steele and Mr Grey? Come on. A college student who is absolutely stunning and still a virgin??? Was this set in the wrong era??? A virgin who has rough initial sex then repeats it the next morning??? Unbelievable.

I love 50 being in love

I came to realise by the end of the third book, that this trilogy is all about the love story. The kinky sex is interesting but in the end its all about a desperate, all consuming love that many many people never experience. The kind of love where despite the hardships, a couple really do adore each other and ..........yes....... it does happen. Its also about the female need to save a handsome and esentially good but very damaged man from himself, and see that love does win over in the end. Yes the books are repetivive but to be honest who cares. It was all about heart and I loved them:) Becca Battoe has done a nice job of the reading.

Good

I liked this series. It was a dramatic love story with a sexy twist and some unrealistic occurrences. While it was cheesy and predictable, it was a feel good story for me and I enjoyed it.

Compelling

Contrary to popular belief, I actually think that Becca Battoe's voice is correct for this trilogy. At first it seems too "innocent", however, that is the point. It feels right throughout the whole thing. I agree with another review that the sex was not that adventurous. In fact, I found that the sex was predictable and frankly boring in most parts of the trilogy. If I could have fast forwarded it, I would (I am no prude) as I felt it got in the way of the story.
E L James would not win the "Best Sex Writing" award. Too many repetitions, but then I wouldn't want to have to try to write about so many different sex scenarios.
It is a love story and it was addictive. It has taken me less than 3 weeks to read all three. Although it is no literary masterpiece, I would recommend it highly as an easy read. Hope you enjoy it.

Toe curling good

Certainly saved reading it on the train in a paper bag as so many seem to try and do. I really do not know what made this series so good that I had to read all 3 books in 2 weeks. Sory line was good, narrator okish, sex scenes did get a bit repetitive, but he is soooooo hot, you never knew what he would do, say, try or buy next

Fifty Shades Freed: Book Three of the Fifty Shades

I found this book to absolutely riveting I could not put this book done until I finished it and then I listened to it again, in fact I have listened to the complete trilogy twice. This is the only time I have listened to a book more than once. The trilogy as a whole was excellent and I have been recommending to all my friends. The only disappointment is that this was the last book and there are no more in the series.

My favourite of the series

This is the third and final book in the fifty shades trilogy, and I think I can unreservedly call it my favourite. I loved seeing Christian and Ana having to adapt to married life, and also loved the suspense and drama surrounding the thriller aspect of the book. While it will never be considered a particularly well-written book I think it must be said that it is an entertaining listen and a great addition to any holiday on the beach!

The Fifty shades Triology

If one was expecting Shakespeare then these are not the books. EL James wrote these books like real life. There are practices that are covered that even with a trusted partner are difficult to talk about with anyone else. There is a lifestyle that most women wish for that is coverd. I fell in love with the Gray family especially Christian. I loved how Anna was able to bring out the loving side of him. I have read the books over and have found it liberating.

Garbage

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

None of these books were for me. I only managed to get through and listen to part of book 2, never even listened to book 3. So far fetched and stupid and a waste of my time.

Any additional comments?

I just did not enjoy this at all and should not have listened to all the hype which made me decide to download

I like this narrator...

What made the experience of listening to Fifty Shades Freed the most enjoyable?

Being able to listen to it when I'm driving, cooking, doing the dishes...!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Christian.Because... he's Christian!

What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?

I liked Becca's performance. I thought she got all the characters spot on and, although at first, I thought Christian sounded a bit strange, it soon became apparent that that just wasn't the case. The narration flowed and it didn't once affect the telling of the story in a negative way.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

That would be telling! ;-)

Closure?

Anna and Christian get married, but are still being slaves to their own battered emotions when it comes to being intimate. Will they ever sort out their emotions or is it just too complicated for a happily ever after?

New Narrator Needed.

The narrator of this series is not really suited to the genre. Perhaps she would be better with lighter chick lit but her narration of the Fifty Shades series is cringeworthy.
She mispronounces words, takes pauses is awkward places and her ‘voices’ for the characters are quite irritating.
For Anastasia she puts on a voice I would imagine you would assign to a 16 year old girl. I know Ana is, in the beginning, inexperienced and timid but her tone is too young. As the books progress so does Ana’s character and she becomes a more confident and bolder woman which doesn’t come through in the narrative.

Christian’s ‘voice’ is so far off the mark. I know that it is difficult for a female voice to portray the tone of a male but this is such a mess. There are female narrators out there who can quite successfully do a male voice. For example, Andi Arnt. In this instance though, Christian sounds like a permanently grumpy old man who when experiencing moments of raw emotion is borderline pathetic. She makes him sound like a whinging man child. She can’t find a middle ground between enraged crazy tyrant and sulking whimpering man.

Due to the great success of the books and also the movies I don’t know why these books haven’t been re-recorded with a narrator who is more well known and great at what they do.
For these books especially, the duet style of narration would be incredible and add so much more depth and entertainment to the listeners experience. Primarily read by a female, but a male to speak male lines.
Zachary Webber does an incredible job on “Grey” and “Darker”. He does a better female voice than Becca Battoe.

If Audible re-recorded these books with a different female narrator and Zachary Webber reading the male lines, it would bring the books up to the level of quality you would expect from a huge worldwide success.

Bland

By the third book I was really tired with the characters especially Christian.
His obsession with Ana became overbearing and even a turnoff. The only time he was happy with her was when he was screwing her, otherwise he was sulky, whiny and possessive... Not hot at all.
Ana just became lame, being so weak willed against him. Totally out of touch.
The phrases and lines became cringeworthy + more repetitive throughout the trilogy to the point I was rolling my eyes with annoyance. Lacked originality, and felt like I was looking into a teenagers wet dream. Juvenile.

Clever what an open ending

I love how the author has addressed power, wealth and control in one bundle. I enjoyed prelude that compares the early fifty to the one we have grown to know. Totally recommended and await their next journey as exhausting as it would be to love him!
