Story
It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Publisher's Summary
Don't believe in love at first sight? He'll make you believe.... Come back to Vermont and to this USA Today best-selling series!
Skye Copeland is on paid leave from her broadcasting job after accidentally drawing a pecker on the traffic map. Let that sink in. Like it's her fault the traffic pattern that day created a perfect schlong?
Skye isn't laughing. She needs this job. And that's the only reason she's agreed to chase down a story in her least favorite place - that hell on earth known as Vermont. A quick trip. In and out. Much like - never mind.
Skye can sneak into the town that once tried to break her, get the story and get back into the good graces of her producer. Easy peasy. Except things go sideways even as she sets foot over the county line.
Her step-sister is on the run from a violent drug dealer. And the cop on the case is none other than Benito Rossi, the man who broke her teenage heart. His dark brown eyes still tear her apart. And even as she steels herself to finally tell him off after 12 years, the old fireworks are still there.
Things are about to go boom.

I love a second chance romance! This book was sweet and sexy. I really enjoyed the characters. It was fun and had some excitement too. I will admit that I didn't love that the drama all stemmed from two people who didn't actually talk to each other. Seriously It drives me crazy when characters don't discuss things like adults.
Narration was good too.

Fireworks Shines
I love this audiobook. It’s wonderful. Not only because the book itself is brilliant, but because both narrators do an amazing job. Zachary Webber and Susannah Jones are great as Benito and Skye. Listening to Fireworks is totally worth it.
The whole True North series is amazing. In Fireworks we finally find out who’s Benito’s soulmate. It’s really cool because while we see them in the present trying to figure themselves out, we get to find out what happened 12 years ago that broke them apart.
It’s everything we love about this series and Vermont, the Shipleys and Rossis, but with a bit of intensity with a police investigation, drug traffickers and obviously angst.
Just FYI, you don’t need to know anything about the series to enjoy this book, but as I always say, these books are all awesome so I recommend them all.

Didnt hate it..
ok, so the story was really good. Ben was a great character. I love when the heroines are flawed and there is growth. but Skye didn't do it for me. Maybe it was the narrator that turned me off, but everytime she did Skye, it grinded my nerves. I finished because the story was interesting. It is my least fav jn the series which is sad cuz I always wanted to know Ben's story

Another Amazing Book in the True North Series!!
Sarina Bowen never disappoints. This story had it all. Light suspense, slow burn, passion, steam, and even laughs. The story is realistic and the characters are relatable.
I loved the title and how it worked into the story. I loved Benito and felt giddy at the way he treated Skylar. He was calm yet eager for her and slowly worked his way back into her heart even though he never truly left.
This story was amazing and this entire series is one of my absolute favorites.
The narration was fantastic and kept me fully invested!
Definitely recommend!!

Writing and female narrator are terrible.
Even Zachary Weber could not help it plus it was mostly read by Susannah. She is awful in general and her male voice is unlistenable.

Story includes current issues facing nation.
This story was okay. I’m not sure I would read another book written by this author. I did not like the way the female’s part was read but, as always, Zachary Webber was superb in his part.

Good story but female narrator drove me nuts
The story is good and Zachary Webber is great as usual. He brings the character Benito to life and it’s easy to fall for him. Unfortunately for me the Female narrator drove me nuts. The attempt at making the heroine sound quirky failed miserably. To me she just sounded ditzy and annoying. I would have quit this book if it wasn’t for the storyline and Zachary.

Great book, not my favorite from the series
I really enjoy Sarina Bowen's romance novels. She's great at writing strong female characters with interests and passions and relationships outside of the romance. They feel like real people.
Fireworks is different than the others in the True North series. It's more of a mystery and doesn't include as much of the Shipley family as the other books, but they are there a bit. The focus is mostly on Skye, who is my least favorite heroine compared to the other books. She's slightly annoying at times, and ridiculously naive about basically everything in life and it made me wonder how she made it this far without falling down a manhole or something. She does have quite the story arch though, so it's somewhat satisfying to see her grow by the end. It does make me wonder *why* Benito loves her so much other than the fact that's she's bonkers beautiful and really tall. Benito is awesome and has great motivation to get rid of the town drug king pin whose past intertwines with his family and Skye's. Zara shows up a lot too, and she gets a nice arch.
Zachary Webber has a sexy voice and did a great job narrating. Susannah Jones is clearly a good narrator, but I don't think she was the right fit for Skye. She is very dramatic with her voice acting and made Skye sound whiny, clueless, and shrill. She also sounds too older for a 28 year old female character.
Like other Bowen novels, this one highlights small business owners, the hardworking Rossi family, and touches on interesting social issues like drug addiction, emotional and sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress, and deal with shame surrounding sex. Overall I wanted to find out what happened to these and the other characters in Vermont, so I listened, I just won't return to this audiobook like I will the others in True North.

Great series, but this by far the worst!!
I've really enjoyed this series, the characters are interesting...different in each book, funny, charming, with all their quirks and cracks. The intertwining of family connections in a small town in beautiful Vermont along with those that join them really brings one into their lives. But this one was weak...….even with the dealings with child abuse, narcotics etc. Benito is cute....and so much in love, but Skylar comes across as a silly, shallow, squeaky girl. It could be just the female narrator!! Zachary Webber is great but even he couldn't save her. Waiting for the next installment!

This was just okay for me
I looked forward to Benito's story, and the story idea itself was solid, but the h and the some details of the story were more frustrating than enjoyable. I'll start with the h, Sky was supposed to be smarter and more well educated than her weather and traffic job, but she never acted that way , it's one of the times we're told she's smart, but she doesn't act it. She is supposedly educated in journalism and investigative reporting, but her step sister's actions and esp. the note she leaves for Sky is never given a second worrisome thought by Sky. Sky is given exact instructions by her step sister in the note, which Sky can't seem to accomplish and constantly overlooks or doesn't mention obvious clues to Benito. An important part of the story is about a huge misunderstanding that is the catalyst for so many things, but the reveal was so underwhelming. I felt disappointed and somewhat bored. I will say it's the first time I have read an h, who doesn't have a lot of sexual experience and who is shy and has trouble saying some things. I enjoyed that for a change. Who wouldn't love Benito the way he was written. This may be the first time I have heard Susannah Jones, and honestly, she wasn't bad at all, I just didn't care for her voice, she made Sky sound vapid. I always enjoy Zachary Webber.

Great book
Really enjoyed this - even more so because I’ve had a book slump with rubbish after rubbish lately. I was relieved to see Sarina Bowen had just released another book and hoped (correctly) it would end the bad run of books. Felt like I got to know the characters and was invested in the story, and sad when it ended. Let’s hope I can find another good book as my next read...

Great listen
First time I have chosen this author and it was because Zachary Webber was narrating. Believable characters, great storyline and never a dull moment. Thoroughly enjoyed the different ways the storyline changed and didn’t just focus on the 2 main characters. I would choose this author again.

Wrong category but ok book
Ok. It was ok.
The narrators are excellent!
The characters are fairly weak and this is far from erotica.
The story is ok, benito is not your standard alpha male and that’s awesome, Sky has intimacy issues due to childhood trauma. There were plot holes such as he’s an undercover cop but everyone knows and he goes on tv for his bust? That makes no sense.
I didn’t read the other books in this series but you don’t need to, you can get the gist.
It was ok.
