Publisher's Summary
Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.
Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?
Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

Fresh new take on the Cinderella tale
I'm what you would call an older woman :-), but I always love a good Cinderella spin off. This book was a nice and well done. The storyline was modernized and well written. If you were looking for a light fun read this is it. Regarding the audiobook though, there are a lot of editing errors, such as repeated sentences. But I easily overlooked those as I enjoyed the story so much.

A Charming Cinderella Story, More than Just a Retelling
Poston does a brilliant job of lovingly grafting the odds and ends of contemporary geek culture over the age-old tale of Cinderella. We all know the story, and all the re-imaginings can easily come off as worn and tired. But Poston's retelling, like any good fairy tale told and retold over time, gives us the heartbeat of the time and space from which it springs. The writing is brisk and humorous, and the characters are constructed with care and wit. Stevens and Morris provide solid performances, and their voices serve Poston's narrative brilliantly. I enjoyed it immensely!

Fun Cinderella story & all the things I love about con
This is a fun take on Cinderella. It also has the moments I love about going to a SciFi Con.
It is sweet and fun - but still solidly read.
I really enjoyed it.

Bad editing
The story itself is a fun spin on a classic Cinderella story. The editing of the audio book however definitely needs working on. Multiple times there are lines which are repeated for no reason and other bad editing notes.

Absolutely Loved it!!😍😍😍
Both narrations and the story were perfect. This is the first time I felt so connected to a main character in a story. My favorite part was was not just the texts but when Elle started converting Sage to a Star Gunner and kept Darian updated on the progress. it was one my most favorite scenes after Darian's first stunt scene for the movie and second to the last few scenes when Sage breaks entry into the Country club.

Drawn out and got too annoying
Rarely have I fast forwarded an audible just to stop the pain of a story being drawn out to no end, but this was a first out of over 100 books.
I just couldn’t take the wimpy main character watching her stepsisters taunt her with her mothers clothes and these are teenagers. No taking it back, no threatening to harm them over the district of her dead mother’s most prized possession. I just can’t, too unrealistic considering the entitlement of all the teens in the book. Smh

Very Adorkable :D
I really enjoyed this story more that I expected .. it was such a breath of fresh air to me and it's been a while since I was last immersed myself in a story like that .. it made me smile the kind of smile that made my cheeks hurt and I still kept smiling, I LOVED the main characters Elle and Darien and I was shipping them so hard that I finished the whole book in one day
I did have a problem with the audio quality, I noticed there were a lot of repeated sentences and the male narrator sometimes forgets to say some words, but overall this book was amazing and highly recommended

Well, I enjoyd it
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I'd absolutely recommend this book it's a very entertaining listen.
What about Eileen Stevens and Tristan Morris ’s performance did you like?
They were generally very good, but someone should have made sure they both knew how to pronounce some of the words associated with the geekdoms the characterd talked about - I mean not knowing how to pronounce Dalek is a pretty obvious mistake.

Great read
What made the experience of listening to Geekerella the most enjoyable?
The perspectives and the two actors were phenomenal, I really enjoyed the change of pace present in each new chapter
What other book might you compare Geekerella to, and why?
Unenchanted by Chanda Hahnn is similar with the strong sassy female lead who may not necessarily understand everything but still powers forward.
Which character – as performed by Eileen Stevens and Tristan Morris – was your favourite?
Sage was so sassy and I really appreciated the LGBT+ representation
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I tried to listen to this in one hit but i fell asleep, I just NEEDED to know what happened

Fun listen
Enjoyed this light-hearted read. Has all the beats you expect but you enjoy the ride anyway. That narrators were both excellent. Whenever Eileen Stevens exclaimed "Danielle!" as the evil step mother I could have died from cringing. Perfect. There was, however, some issues with the recording where lines were repeated multiple times. Other than that, loved this nerdy retelling of this classic.

Fairytale meets Sci-Fi
I loved this book! Fairytale meets Sci-fi pop culture, with some name drops of big starts thrown in helps to really immerse yourself in the story, leaving you to feel like it's happening right now.
like a good old fairytale the bathroom scene made me cry. Not sure if we got our happily ever after or not but I guess it leaves it open for another adventure?
Was disappointed that Elle took her dog on the red carpet, felt a bit pretentious of her, not sure that that fit with her character?
I marked the performance of this book down a star because it was a bit glitchy where some of Dorian's lines would be repeated over.
