Best in the series!
I absolutely love this book to begin with, but the folks at Graphic Audio really knocked it out of the park with this one. Performances were top notch, and they prioratized dialogue over background noise and music (I hate when they do that in other books). the only fault I have, and it's tiny, is the very last line. It cuts out so fast and runs to credits. I felt like Darrow was midsentence, and they interrupted him. they could have made the credits it's own "chapter" instead of the last few minutes of chapter 8.

Excellence
Top shelf sci-fi, though I loved the first book in the series I felt it was lacking and had more of a fantasy feel. Golden son is everything and more from what an action packed sci-fi should be!! I’m hooked.

New favourite
Absolutely in love with the series!! Although I cannot wait for the story to continue, I'm still willing to wait for the dramatised audio version rather than the standard audiobook. So great is the quality! I drove for 4 hours, felt like a moment. And when I arrived, I stayed up for another 3 hours to finish the story :D 10/10. Will deprive myself of sleep again!

Brutal Gripping Carnage
My favourite series by a mile. I love the Red Rising series, expertly crafted edge of the seat action. Read all the books, so was pleasantly surprised when the dramatised audio books were released. Can’t wait til the next one. Hail Reaper

Gripping, in League with the Sci-Fi Classics
I thought I enjoyed Red Rising but Golden Son has taken it up to another level entirely, aided I'm sure by the dramatised adaption.
This is truly such a fantastic series, taking tired tropes like the chosen one, class divides and dystopia fantasy and managing to make me feel like I've never read anything like it before. It's been a long time since a book filled me with such joy, such hope and such devestation.
Brown's characters are so human, and yet he has mastered the balance between telling and showing us; each person is defined as much by their sillouette as the empty space around them. There is something about the way Brown depicts his characters that is so distinct from the weak, superficially strong protagonists of so much of the fiction being written right that is addictive.
This series goes straight to the sci-fi classics for me, and I can't wait to read more from Brown.

Audio Immersion, worth the buy!
This is worth the buy for the immersion!
I enjoyed listening to Darrow’s narrator and enjoy Sevro’s and Ragnar’s casting.
If you have the audiobooks, this is well worth the buy!
