Publisher's Summary

When P.V. Narasimha Rao became the unlikely prime minister of India in 1991, he inherited a nation adrift, violent insurgencies, and economic crisis. Despite being unloved by his people, mistrusted by his party, and ruling under the shadow of 10 Janpath, Rao transformed the economy and ushered India into the global arena.

With exclusive access to Rao’s never-before-seen personal papers and diaries, this definitive biography provides new revelations on the Indian economy, nuclear program, and foreign policy and the Babri Masjid. Tracing his early life from a small town in Telangana through his years in power and finally his humiliation in retirement, it never loses sight of the inner man, his difficult childhood, his corruption and love affairs, and his lingering loneliness.

Meticulously researched and brutally honest, this landmark political biography is a must-listen for anyone interested in knowing about the man responsible for transforming India.

An Exceptional National Leader !

PV is undoubtedly an exceptional national leader and a truly visionary person. Without his bold policy reforms, there is no "middle class" or "upper middle class" exists today. The private employment, six digits salaries, and talent-based opportunities all are fruits of his reforms. His own party never owned his because he hurt one family's personal egos. As "Sitapati" rightly pointed congress always wants a weak and a strong leader as CM/PM, weak to listen and strong to implement their ideas. But PV was neither weak nor strong.
Unfortuanetly, now educated youth blind flows the leaders based on their catchy speeches and hashtags. Everyone must read a book like this to know the greatness of our leaders like PV, Vajpayee and rate your leader on their scale. India is full talent, If IPL itself created 10 top cricket teams for India today, why cant we nature the young leaders who can take our country in a progressive path with equality and strong democratic values.
Last but not least.. PV truly deserves a "Bharath Ratna"

Unbiased narrative of a truly world class leader

Got hooked to it right from chapter 1. Really appreciate the author's efforts to tell of the story of a man who did right things at right times shaping history of modern India. Had there been anyone else in Narsimha Rao's place, today's India would've been entirely different. We Indians will be forever indebted to his phenomenal contribution to India's Economy, foreign policy and many other sectors.

The narrator's voice is good, clear and narrating style is also very nice.

The Story Deserves 100+ Stars

Narrated well. Explores deep into the inner workings of the Lutyen's Delhi and the Delhi Durbar. Gives one a feeling that he/she is living through the life of PV as PV himself.
