Story
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. That's when things started really going wrong. Now I spend my time fighting with swords, battling monsters with my friends, and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Excellent book
It took a while to complete this audiobook but from here Rowling has started taking this book into a darker side. Hogwarts meet a nightmare in from of professor Umbridge never have I hated a fictional character more than I hated her curious to see whether she makes any further appearance. This book has bent slightly towards the character development side than the plot. Good to see Harry and his mates are dealing with some more adult issues & Neville gaining some nerves 😂. Very gripping book specially the last few chapters, amazingly narrated by Stephen Fry overall another outstanding edition by JK Rowling.

A must have for a Harry Potter fan
I was initially very skeptical about this audiobook when my friend suggested it to me. She said it is a dramatic reading of The Order of Phoenix and I personally am not too much into dramatic readings because I am like 27 years old now. :D However, Stephen Fry is something else. He has done a great job in capturing all the nuances of the tale with his voice modulation and narration. He has brought to life all the characters as they are from the book. I am not going to compare this to the movie because the stories diverge a lot from this book onward. All in all, an extremely must have item in your library specially if you have the subscription and can get it for 1 credit instead of >1000 INR. I listen this while walking, cooking, attending meetings (:P), playing games on my console, internet browsing, potty, etc.

An incredible reading!!!
I have been a fan of Harry Potter, or maybe I should say JK Rowling, since the beginning, But never I had enjoyed this book, my favorite of the series, like this before. Mr Fry breathes new, detailed and nuanced life into the characters.
I understood many things that my own reading (one reads faster in silence) did not reveal to me. The movie does not do any justice to the story, even if it is a good movie. Gary Oldman, as passionate an actor as he is, is no match for Mr Fry's careful and believable creation. And his Dumbledore is also a new version of the wise, beautiful old magician. Mr Fry's is more mysterious, more human, incredibly caring. This was lovely. Thank you.

I am a love of all of J.K Rowlings books and I wold suggest this book to anyone and everyone ho loves a mix of fantasies and reality ! Though make sure you read he other 5 books before or listen to them ! It is a wonderful book and especially good for in the car or when it is almost sleep time to get you in the mood . Deeper, Darker, Longer . . . Brilliant!
Did J.K. Rowling overdo it with "The Order of the Phoenix"? You might be forgiven for thinking so. After all this longest book of the series had the shortest amount of film time dedicated to it. So who got it right? Author or Director? It does have to be said that it is a slower moving story and some will conclude that a tougher approach to the editing would have improved it.
I have to disagree though, this is a more grown-up Harry Potter! Full of teenage angst and hormones as he struggles with not just wizardry, evil and fame but also the normal challenges that all young people face. Raging against family, the agonies of a possible first love, the panic created by crucial examinations and discovering that just maybe your parents weren’t quite the perfect role models that you once thought.
Again the narrative to the story takes on an increasingly darker tone and the sense of childish wonder is replaced with a more worldly outlook as befits a growing boy. There are still, of course, lots of moments of humour and warmth as we get to spend an extended amount of time with Harry, Hermione, Ron and the others. The Weasley twins are a particular highlight of this book.
The man faced with this marathon narration is once again the hugely impressive Mr Fry who is extremely easy on the ear. Listen carefully and you can detect a couple of very slightly ragged edges in the character voicings of this one but he still brings great atmosphere and at times a real gravitas to proceedings.
If you have only ever seen the film before this book should be a massive treat! I think the author got it right and it’s the one Potter film where I genuinely feel they didn’t do the book justice at all. Even though it was a fine film in of itself it just doesn’t quite manage to capture the essence of the book as well as the others.
It’s long but don’t be put off, after all who wouldn’t want to spend a few extra hours with this set of characters?

Hurray! Harry Potter is on audible!
What made the experience of listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Book 5 the most enjoyable?
I read all the Harry Potter books. It is such a treat to listen to Harry Potter's adventures again. Stephen Fry does an amazing job and brings all the characters in the book alive. I used every opportunity to listen to this Harry Potter Book. Even I know the storyline I didn't get bored listen to the book again.
What other book might you compare Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Book 5 to, and why?
I don't know any books which you can compare with The Harry Potter series. For me Harry Potter is just the best.
Which character – as performed by Stephen Fry – was your favourite?
Stephen Fry brings every character in the book alive. I particularly like his performance of Dolores Umbridge as his voice is brings her bittersweet evil character alive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It is too long to listen in one sitting but I finished the audio book in a week. I could not wait listening to Harry Potter so I listened to it on my way to work, going for a walk with my dog and doing household chores.
Any additional comments?
I will download every Harry Potter Book. It is such a treat to be able to have the whole series on my IPod. Thanks Audible!

fantastic
Fabulous book, Stephen Fry had bought out the magic JK Rowling had put into her book. Can't wait to listen to the next one. Strongly recommended for car journeys, during lunchtimes at work or school or just for times on your own

Addictive, compelling!!
What made the experience of listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Book 5 the most enjoyable?
Stephen Fry's narration!
What did you like best about this story?
Although getting darker in nature, it's central focus remains the same: love, friendship and goodness over evil :)
Have you listened to any of Stephen Fry’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Yes ALL the Potter books thus far. Although all great, the ever growing amount of characters make it more varied and interesting!
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Dark. Dangerous but friendship saves the day!!
Any additional comments?
SO glad the Umbridge woman gets her comeuppance, she's simply vile!!

Amazing Book and beautifully read
I cant get enough of the Harry Potter books. This book in particular is awesome. J K Rowling is a genius.
I already had the Jim Dale audio version. I think both he and Stephen Fry tell the story but Stephens version is more complete.

ALWAYS WILL LOVE
This is my second favourite Harry Potter book and I've been a fan since the start and coming back to this book, makes me feel so much happiness all over again. This book is fantastic it's full of adventure and also if your a teenager you feel like you can relate to a lot of things (apart from the magic ;) ) this story is full of heart break but also so much happiness and laughs!

One of the best in the series <br />
A book about a boy with the burden of a man learning to hold his nerve in the face of slander, defamation, character assassination and murder.

Very interesting
Harry is becoming quite a complex character. Writing is superb. Reliance on the masonic and Catholic animosity isn't very original.
