This book contains the stories of vampires written by three different authors. I got it because of Hannah Howell. Each story is written about the Scottish Highlands several hundred years ago. I loved the stories of each author and now will look into the other two's work.
"The Beast Within" This is the Gybbon MacNachton story of trying to find the lost ones. As the book synopsis states. He has run across Alice Boyd whom he finds out is one of the lost. She has with her children who are also lost. She is trying to stay one step ahead of the hunters. Their story is about protecting the clan and finding love in the run.
"The Vampire Hunter" by Heather Grothaus story is about the last last survivor of her family of witches, Beatrix Levenach. She has a destiny to fulfill and taking out the master vampire is it. But along the way she meet Alder the White who is part of her destiny. He is also a vampire but helps her destroy the master vamp. Along the way they fall in love. Can he be saved? He is a hundred year old vampire. Or will fates decry them their chance?
"Laird of Midnight" by Victoria Dahl is about Finlay Maclain who for fifty years has been looking for those vampires who turned him. He has killed all but one. But one night he comes across a tavern maid who sets all of his senses awry. She is his mate. Can he save her or lose her to the one who destroyed his family?
The narration of the book was entertaining enough to listen to the end.
